Mountains (in the singular)
ParkChat

Q2 #ParkChat During the first year of our 59 National Park adventure I climbed 9 mountains (couldn’t do it now 😉). Which Park Mountains have you summited? Please count your car summits too. Planning on climbing one soon? Describe your experience(s).

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2: Zero. Workin' on that this year, hopefully. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2: I have no bagged no peaks in our Parks, although I’m planning on Guadalupe Peak late Spring. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2 I summited Mount Washington! Ok, fine, my old body rode the cog train up! Pikes Peak! Ok, fine, I rode the train there too. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2. I'm not a fan of homework, but would have liked some time to think about this one. Do state parks count too? And, how about ski lift summits? Can I count those too? Please please? #parkchat

A2 Well I've summited the highest #mountain in 7 states but as for #nationalparks? I think I've been to the top of about a dozen mountains. Mostly along the @BlueRidgeNPS #ParkChat

A2 Washburn @YellowstoneNPS (twice), Lassen Peak @LassenNPS, Mt Scott @CraterLakeNPS Mt Leconte @GreatSmokyNPS, Old Rag @ShenandoahNPS, Guadalupe Peak @GuadalupeMtnsNP, those are just the most memorable ones I can think of off the top of my head #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2) Since you're allowing mountain roads, I've taken Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park and gone over Beartooth Pass outside of Yellowstone National Park, the two highest highways in the lower 48. #ParkChat

A2 Kennesaw Mountain, Cadillac Mountain, Hurricane Ridge ... nothing significant 😎 #ParkChat

@59NationalParks A2. I can proudly say I have summited Timm's Hill, the highest point in Wisconsin.

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2 - Hiking summits for us - Mt Lassen, Mt Guadalupe, a lowered Mt. St Helens and Emory Peak in @BigBendNPS #ParkChat

replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @59NationalParks Oh man, you took my two! 😁 #parkchat A2

A2. We were 14er seekers when living in CO. Managed to do 14 of the 54. But no Longs Peak. Messed up, right? Lost count since, we love the thrill of a summit! #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2) #Parkchat The most special and memorable experience I've had was spent on the top of Mauna Kea, there is a reason it's a sacred place to the Hawaiian's ! #ProtectMaunaKea https://t.co/GU0qtbgl55

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2) One in a NP, Rainier, but lots in wilderness areas and monuments, St. Helens, Three Fingers and others. #ParkChat

A2: i’ve climbed many, however most were so small that their names were not considered. My goal for 19 is glacier national Park in 100 miles of hiking and climbing. #ParkChat

A2 Trail Ridge Rd in Rocky Mtn NP, Cadillac Mountain in Acadia, Mt Washington in NH, Logan Pass in Glacier. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2 #parkchat Oh man, that'd take me some time to count. Not sure which national park summit I'll be on next—not many summits on my remaining park trips—but I'll likely enjoy a #summitbeer on Picacho Peak this weekend.

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2: I went up to Lassen a couple of years ago. I also did Diablo and Tamalpais multiple times as a kid, but those are state parks. https://t.co/tHm6b7VfoL #ParkChat

RT @GPJohnston: @59NationalParks A2) One in a NP, Rainier, but lots in wilderness areas and monuments, St. Helens, Three Fingers and others…

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2. I don't know name but I've crossed continental divide in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. That would closest I've come to summitting a mountain in a national park. #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2 I regularly summit Wolf Mountain and we’re talking central Texas “mountain” 😉 at Pedernales Falls State Park #ParkChat 🤣

A2 I summited Rainier a bazillion years ago. Guess that’s the highest I’ve been in a national park. 14,411 feet. #parkchat This pic is taken from Burroughs Mountain.
