Q5 #ParkChat Small things you take for granted, like internet, cell phone signal and running water, are far and few between in a lot of parks. How would you handle these problems? Would you be excited to not have the pressures of modern society? Would you miss it?
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5. I love living out in the middle of nowhere! #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5) I was born before color TV so I doubt that I'd have any problems adjusting. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5 I must admit I like running water and flushing toilets. I wish I was not addicted to my phone as I am. The cell service would be an adjustment, but I could handle it eventually. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5. Not having cell service to contact family would be the worst #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 a5 - Not an understatement, Aubrey. Was able to visit my NPS ranger friends humble accomodations in park service housing @AcadiaNPS. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5. Tough but fair question. More curious about seeing the answers than offering one. :) #parkchat
replying to @aubreylenae16
@aubreylenae16 A5) I would LOVE to live a life free of technology with few possessions and wide open spaces. I'd miss running water, though.

A5. View it as mostly positive but accommodating visitors would be toughest challenge (if not attune to sleeping in the outdoors). Shout out to the full time Ranger at Torroweap in @GrandCanyonNPS. Now that’s seclusion! #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5: we’ve practiced a couple of times 😂 lost power for 2 weeks. Honestly, it would take some major adjusting for long term. I love off grid time. #ParkChat
A5 I absolutely LOVE escaping cellular service when traveling in #nationalparks. I hang my hammock and sleep the first day. Although I do like to have water nearby. And showers. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5) I think I'd love it. I love when I get to leave them behind for a week so maybe I could adapt? #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5 I think my quality of life would improve if I was forced to cut back on technology use, though of course Wednesday evenings I’d find a way to #ParkChat Nonrunning water would be more of a challenge for me
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5) No running water? What are you barbarians?! 😂 But, seriously, no cell or internet would be fine (healthier?) #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5. I grew up without most of these. For a time I had to live without indoor plumbing. I actually would rather have internet over running water. Heating water for bathing and having a (nice) outhouse are not that bad. #parkchat
replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @aubreylenae16 A5) #Parkchat Of these, I think water is the only "problem", I just bring it or a way to filter it, actually I'm quite excited to be facing these problems in the very near future but I'll have a canoe so I'm very excited and will not miss modern society, one bit!
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5 One of the reasons I love backpacking is getting away from Internet, cell phone, and doing without the luxuries of modern life. I’d relish a remote post in a park with super rustic accommodations…like a tent or lookout. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 #parkchat A5 lived in a yurt and a house w no running water in the past. No fear here. Cell service is nice to connect w family "Haven't been eaten by a bear yet, Ma!" but otherwise, I'd be just fine! 😁
replying to @aubreylenae16
@aubreylenae16 A5. I don't have a problem with forgoing without any of those luxuries.
I use a freaking flip phone for goodness sake. And. I barely use it.

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5: I don't miss being off the grid, at least for a little while. I really need the quiet time. #ParkChat
RT @MattsRoadTrip: @aubreylenae16 A5. I love living out in the middle of nowhere! #ParkChat https://t.co/NhcjOCcUcI
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A5: I actually unplug as much as possible when I travel, so it wouldn't be an issue for me. I'd be much more concerned with having enough water to last! #ParkChat
