Q7 #ParkChat One of my favorite parts of being a park ranger is inspiring people to take action on caring for their public lands. What difficult environmental issue do you think you'd spend a lot of time focusing on if you were a park ranger?

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7) We think a major topic will be over-visitation. Having to talk to people about why they can't go, that's tough. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7 Water conservation. Invasive species. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7: just one? Some that come to mind: leave no trace, minimize waste, reduce, reuse, recycle, compost. Too hard to pick one! #parkchat

A7. Has to be the what and why re: how the park looked decades ago to the version of today. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7. Try to instill an appreciation of the park so they will help to protect it and other public lands for generations to come #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7) Given what happened to parks such as @DeathValleyNPS & @JoshuaTreeNPS during the shutdown, I would strongly focus on @leavenotrace since we're only borrowing the public lands from our future generations. #ParkChat

A7 I would focus on leaving a minimal impact on the environment while visiting a #nationalpark. Don't leave your car idling. Use solar power to charge your devices. Carpool with fellow campers to explore the park. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7: if I was a park ranger I’d focus on pollution since it is very harmful to not only our planet but the people living in it. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7 I’d want to push for more of what we can do to leave smaller human footprints and impacts in the parks. As a collective of visitors, we need to be more mindful of our presence and what it does to the parks. #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7. I have a personal connection to the backcountry and it's designated trails. I would focus on maintaining those trails and making sure that visitors understand the importance of respecting trail designations and practicing leave no Trace principles! #ParkChat

@aubreylenae16 A7) I would find it very meaningful to spend my time focusing on ecosystems, habitats. how it all interconnects. #ParkChat

A7 Promoting non-violence, especially if I worked at a battlefield, but the message is relevant everywhere. #LeaveNoTrace is a form of non-violence too #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7) Is climate change a difficult environmental issue? Shouldn’t be but maybe it is - I’d also love to address the impact of cattle ranching (sure to get some opposition but - well - my opinion is correct! 🤣 #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7. I think we all have our things that drive us nuts regarding park visitors (encroaching wildlife, vandalism, littering, etc). Combating those would certainly be a focus #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 #parkchat A7 LNT and climate change. Both are wreaking havoc on our parks.

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7 Climate change is big but I think I'd talk about litter. We can see litter nearly everywhere. It kills birds, fish & other animals. #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7. Climate change. I could probably tie the topics of invasive species and out of control development into that. #parkchat

replying to @Christina_Skis A7. oh, and to leave the animals ALONE. Referencing selfies and the particularly angering drunk dude that went viral recently 😤 #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7. Like a number of others, I'd discuss Leave No Trace. With a focus on outdoor pooping skills. #TiredofTurdsOnTheTrails #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A7: Definitely leaving no trace and climate change. #ParkChat
