Q8 #ParkChat Park rangers love their jobs & we love helping people have an amazing experience while visiting public lands. Have you ever had an experience with a park ranger that inspired you to change how you live your day to day life? If so, tell me about it!

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8: I can’t think of just one, as they have taught us a lot & reinforced what we already know. I think that constant connection with my kids helps them know that it isn’t just my thoughts - others share them too. #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8 Great question. I can't say I have, other than to make me want to visit more park sites. But, different rangers have sparked interest in a wide variety of subjects which in turn lead to more reading about the subject. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8) Years ago I went on a National Trails Day hike at John Muir NHS, it was Ranger Ben's story about how he started out as a Volunteer and then became a Ranger that sparked the idea in my head. #ParkChat

A8. It’s all about perspective. Rangers are paid in sunrises and sunsets yet many things about their jobs simply aren’t rosy. The attitude and smiles they bring to their work everyday is best in class and admirable #ParkChat

A8 Not a ranger, but a volunteer, gave a talk @VoyageursNPS about the ecological farming of the Indians, kinda like ancient #Permaculture. I'm inspired to grow my own food in a sustainable way, even though I suck at gardening now #parkchat

A8: Please show respect to rangers, interns, maintenance workers. It's not all wine and roses. It is hard, and often unthankful work. #ParkChat https://t.co/wqjy0L8IvC

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8 About 10 years ago we were at Black Canyon and went snowshoeing with a ranger there. He brought along a book of poetry and read winter-related poetry throughout. Best interpretive hike I was ever on. #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8. The #Adirondacks are so short staffed that I have not seen a Ranger in the Wilderness in YEARS. They are usually very busy with SAR. :(

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8.2 I follow a number Rangers on Twitter. They spread a lot of helpful info and it's easy for me to reach out to them when I have a question.
I also petition our politicians to #ADDNYSRANGERS #parkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8. I have memories of hikes or conversations with rangers from many parks over the years. Each of these specific memories is positive, and collectively have given me a great respect for the ranger ranks. #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A8: Not really, I've always loved the outdoors. I grew up in a town at the base of a mountain, so I always had opportunities to go out and explore. #ParkChat
