A2. Maintenance (miss “working with my hands”) and/or the impossible task of administration #ParkChat

replying to @e_terren @e_terren @59NationalParks @aubreylenae16 @Wild_Tribute Just rain? 🤔 #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A2 As a teacher/librarian I think education would be a good fit for me. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Administration, the unsung heroes of any org! #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A2) #Parkchat Interpretation or Education, in order to help people understand the importance of preserving these special places for future generations; when people know more about their surroundings, they are more likely to go out of their way to protect them! Or Law Enforcement

replying to @publiclandlvr @publiclandlvr @aubreylenae16 Sounds like fun to me! #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A2. I think this is a common thing must visitors aren’t aware of. Especially in larger parks we have very specific roles. When in small parks you cross many divisions/roles. My job is in interpretation. So I’m one of the friendly frontline rangers giving programs #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 As a retired teacher I’d look for an educational position. And would occasionally give homework and assign detention. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A2. I’d enjoy doing the evening programs and being as irreverent as possible #ParkChat

replying to @mjn126 @aubreylenae16 A2) sorry, forgot the why. because I love learning and also sharing what I learn. #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @aubreylenae16 @BadlandsNPS Oh right on! I didn’t even think of that one. Way cool. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A2) I use to be a Seasonal Maintenance Worker at @GoldenGateNPS & if I had been given a full time position afterwards I may have stayed with the @NatlParkService. Instead I've been an NPS Volunteer at @JohnMuirNPS for nearly 25 years now. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute I wanted to be an ornithologist because I loved birds of prey and owls. Still do. In thinking about that, I always imagined I’d work in the Everglades. #ParkChat #FindYourPark

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @59NationalParks Expanding beyond your regional base, eh? #parkchat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @aubreylenae16 @BadlandsNPS Indeed. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 @Wild_Tribute A2) Hey #ParkChat pals! Sneaking in here and there tonight. I think I'd thoroughly enjoy running outdoor educational activities and giving campfire talks.

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints @Wild_Tribute And maintenance too! We have so many highly skilled professionals in the system: carpenters, electricians, waste water treatment operators. Any job you need to run a city exists in the NPS system. #ParkChat

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints Would make sure to include the option to tag along with the SAR Rangers as well :) #ParkChat

A2 I would LOVE to be one of the #nationalpark rangers that does the rifle and canon demonstrations. I think it would be awesome to learn how these weapons worked and be able to actually fire one! #ParkChat

Q3 #ParkChat Park rangers work in ALL public lands, everything from national parks, to wildlife refuges, to national monuments! If you could choose any site to live and work at, which one would it be? And what about this place inspires you to care so deeply about it?

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints @aubreylenae16 You guys are such good storytellers. Good choice. #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace This is actually my dream job. There's a seasonal position at Lava Beds in the fire lookout that I have my eye on when my kid is a little older. #ParkChat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee I would do that only if I worked at a Revolutionary War battlefield and I got to talk with a fake British accent #parkchat

replying to @DryTortugasFilm @DryTortugasFilm @aubreylenae16 An important role! #parkchat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A3 I'd love to be at @LittleBigNPS . The story fascinates me. Love being there any time of the year. Fascinating when I'm there late fall with no crowds. The emotions and feelings. #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A3. I’d choose a quiet place like @OrganPipeNPS or @LassenNPS or @GreatBasinNPS - each a scenic gem #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 #parkchat A3 @YellowstoneNPS. #lifegoals the plan is to "retire" there somehow, someday. 😊

replying to @theRangerLife @theRangerLife @aubreylenae16 I would be SO good at this! I would also expand the citizen ranger program that exists at @MountRainierNPS and @BandelierNPS. #ParkChat
replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 a3 - I think we all know there is a bit of hieraracy of building from smaller public lands to the big jobs at the larger more visited & coveted locales. Bless you and your Ranger colleagues for your dedication to the process! #ParkChat

replying to @aubreylenae16 @aubreylenae16 A3: wow, that’s a tough question! For me pick just one, I have no idea! #parkchat
