replying to @AlongfortheTrip @AlongfortheTrip @RockyNPS Absolutely gorgeous terrain! #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes A4. The visitor center at Gettysburg Military Park does an outstanding job of explaining the 3 day battle, along with great exhibits. The Eisenhower home/library visitor center in Abilene, KS, meant a lot to me because my mother was an Army nurse in Europe, WWII. #parkchat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes a5) visit two medicine lake in Glacier National Park (on the east side) Hike few miles to a neat lake ! way less visited than other parts of the park #parkchat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes A8) I love any of them that are long enough to stop and have a snack on. #ParkChat

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @ParksandPoints @59NationalParks @AniakchakNPS Whoa, seriously? Doing all the units inclusive of National Parks...and Aniachak? And Bering Land Sea Bridge? #ParkChat

replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @Exotichikes I love it all, but yes, there's definitely a draw for me to places that are more foreign from what I regularly visit. #parkchat

A8 I'm a BIG fan of the #AppalachianTrail. I've spent days hiking the trail through Virginia and the Roan Highlands of Tennessee that really shows you what the Appalachian wilderness is all about. #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @WindCaveNPS Don't worry. We have so much content on #parkchat that only those who want to go there and enjoy it correctly will see it.

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @Exotichikes Oh, I bet! That's true all over! #ParkChat

replying to @AlongfortheTrip @AlongfortheTrip @RockyNPS Yeah, once you divert from Bear Lake on any of those trails, it gets nice and quiet. #ParkChat

replying to @mtmagog @mtmagog @Exotichikes Wisdom right here. Ed Abbey would be proud #ParkChat

Q9) It is infrastructure week! What off the beaten path trailhead/entrance/visitor center do you feel should have a Visitor Center or Lodge? #ParkChat

A8) The Ptarmigan Falls/Iceberg Lake trail at @GlacierNPS is pretty easy to access but gets pretty wilderness-y rather quick. #ParkChat

replying to @bewildandbefree @bewildandbefree That whole east side. so amazing. #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes a8) the vastness of canyonlands is mind boggling, seeing the horizon and the monsoon clouds forming in the summer, mind is blown ! #Parkchat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes A5 The short trails near Two Medicine Lake in @GlacierNPS are beautiful, but the area is less popular and crowded than Many Glacier or the Going-to-the-Sun road. #ParkChat

replying to @louisbink @louisbink @Exotichikes @DryTortugasNPS We so wanted it to be a loop, thinking "eh, maybe we could jump the gap?"😆 #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes A4 I was amazed @MammothCaveNP visitor center. I could have spent a lot more time there. Visiting Presidents homes/libraries are some of my favorite stops. #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes @naturetechfam @WindCaveNPS Well said, Doug #ParkChat

A8 Not a National Park, but a State Park - Devil's Path in the beloved Catskills, hauling myself up over boulders and up rock faces is my idea of wild #parkchat

replying to @mamanobles @mamanobles @Exotichikes @MammothCaveNP Yes, they have an excellent visitor center. #ParkChat

@Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @59NationalParks @AniakchakNPS We did Gates of the Arctic NP, Kobuk Valley, Noatak, Bering Land Bridge, Cape Krusenstern, Denali (park, but not preserve, hitting that this summer), Kenai Fjords, & Wrangell St Elias last July.
This June we do the rest (finishing the 419 for me), plus 2 USFS monuments #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks Thanks! @mathiaseichler is the one who came up with it! I was stumped and needed one more. #ParkChat

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @59NationalParks @AniakchakNPS Congrats! That's awesome. #ParkChat

A8 While other trails in Many Glacier of Glacier NP are super crowded, not that many people go to Cracker Lake. #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes #ParkChat A9 we'd love a small lodge @TRooseveltNPS. The remoteness is nice but a few more comforts may draw more visitors.

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @ParksandPoints @59NationalParks @AniakchakNPS Amazing #ParkChat

Q10) There are many popular websites and guidebooks to explore our National Parks. Is there an under the radar park group or author that you recommend for a National Park visit? #ParkChat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes A7. Alaska Route 1, particularly in Fall Color season in early September provides some great views of @WrangellStENPS #ParkChat

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints @59NationalParks @AniakchakNPS Fingers crossed we can get it done! We do have some backup plans in case weather doesn't cooperate, but I really hope it does because I'm planning on finishing all 419 park units on June 28 in Glacier Bay. #parkchat
replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints @Exotichikes @DryTortugasNPS Ah - we visited a few months before the hurricane knocked out a section. #ParkChat

replying to @e_terren
@e_terren @Exotichikes He was a map master!
I've seen some of the old USGS maps that he owned. He pinned the quads together on a wall to make one big map! If you want I can dig up a really amazing article about him & give you the link.

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes a9) good question ! I have to think on this one !! #ParkChat

replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @Exotichikes @JohnMuirNPS A5. I'd like to place my answer here. In Wisconsin you can also walk in Muir's footsteps in the first place he lived in North America. It's now called Ennis Lake. There is a trail around the lake. It's a county park, but I've never seen anyone else when I've been there. #parkchat

replying to @Exotichikes @Exotichikes @RoadTripsCoffee A8 Hoh Rainforest @OlympicNational Avalanche Lake @GlacierNPS North Rim @GrandCanyonNPS @CapitolReefNPS is wonderful and not as crowded as other Utah parks. #ParkChat
