A2. I have no idea if Pennsylvania public lands allow you to harvest or collect particular foods from plants or trees. National forests require collection permits. Here’s an article on foraging. #ParkChat #foodtravelchat https://t.co/EKSGcHtoAk

A2 I thought it was a general National Park Service rule that visitors are not allowed to take anything out of the parks? I saw a guy get a $500 ticket once for taking a fallen tree out of the park. #ParkChat

A2. You can harvest mushrooms and berries at several parks and forests in the PNW, with appropriate permit. And certain tribes have access for traditional foods and plants, like huckleberries and beargrass. #ParkChat #foodtravelchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A2) Sure, national parks and national forests allow berry and mushroom picking, at least here in the NW, and a lot of Washington marine state parks allow clam and oyster gathering. Wild foraging is super fun. #ParkChat #foodtravelchat
