Social Media and Parks
ParkChat
Q5. National Parks have been here for years and years, but social media is relatively new. Which has had more of an impact on your life?
#ParkChat
A5 NATIONAL PARKS 100%! Social media has been a huge influence in my life but being in the National Parks this year truly made me realize priorities of life and enjoying the views not the “tweets”! #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 If It weren’t for the parks, I wouldn’t have a social media life. Ha! (It’s true!). #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5) definitely parks, hands down !! #naturelovers #ParkChat family time like none other

@TouringTastebud A5: I think Social Media has had a profound impact on my love for Our National Parks. I’ve had my fire stoked by #ParkChat
Pre 2015 I was a bonafied couch potato
A5: Clearly the parks themselves have had a bigger impact on my life compared to social media. As I ironically participate in an event using social media. #ParkChat #irony
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 I got engaged on our @OlympicNP trip. Bigger impact than social media. My NP memories will always outweigh social media #parkchat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 I was exploring parks and other public lands long before social media even existed! They are what inspired me to start writing, taking photos, and capturing video, and my work with those mediums is why I started using social media. #parkchat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5. Tough question. I grew up going on NPS road trips. But I'm also of the #socialmedia generation. Chatrooms. AIM. Myspace. Facebook. Twitter. Blogs. The internet is what allowed my husband to work remotely so that we could take our #NationalParksRoadTrip. So. both? #parkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5) After being a National Park Service Volunteer for nearly 25 years, I'm not going to say that social media has more influence in my life more than the parks. 😁 #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 Throughout our 37 years of marriage the Parks have been so important to Shelly and I. So I’ll go with Parks. #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 Oh, definitely the parks. However, I've made some good friends here in #ParkChat.
RT @RCGibby73: @TouringTastebud A5: I think Social Media has had a profound impact on my love for Our National Parks. I’ve had my fire stok…
A5) A bigger impact from us is social media, we almost certainly wouldn't have met nearly any of you back in 1990. And we love our #tweetups and #parkchat. What a great community and full of awesome advise and motivation!
A5 The national parks of Uzbekistan have had a bigger impact on my life than social media, and I've never even been there #parkchat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5. The parks, but social media does help us experience parks we may never get to visit. I’ve also found its really helped build community and leds may to realize how important these spaces are to protect #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5. Ha! Started including this answer before. I was at 27 or 28 in the NPs when I joined FB and Twitter. 10+ years later, I've added about a dozen more. I think where I've been in life has dictated things more, though no question travel quests fueled by SM has pushed. #parkchat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5 National Parks without question. I have resisted the social media tsunami and only use twitter and YouTube. #ParkChat
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud #parkchat A5 parks! Been touring parks way longer than sharing them with others. Social media is just an easier medium to share them! 😍
replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A5. My dad took us to National parks when we were kids, and it shaped my love of nature. So that has a core influence on me way before social media even existed. Cuz I'm old 🤣 #ParkChat
