replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7 I'm sure there's one I only learned about because of social media, but I've forgotten which it was lol #ParkChat

A7) We knew about the site, but James A. Garfield NHS and their Twitter presence has really changed our perception and knowledge of that park, along with the historical timeframe in which Garfield lived and was President. 100+ recommend a follow of @GarfieldNPS #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7 - Dry Tortugas NP. Still haven’t been there, but didn’t know about it before I saw pics on FB. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7 None but I'm a travel/park book reader from a long way back. I've learned more about some of the parks tho. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud #ParkChat A7 well, probably quite a few as I hadn't kept track of them until we started sharing our own adventures to the parks! Esp the national monuments and such. Now I use soc med to keep up to date on the frequent new additions!

A7 I think @GlacierNPS! We knew there were a ton in the area but had never heard of Glacier somehow. Now it is our favorite national park in the US! #ParkChat

A7: As a kid I was fascinated by the national parks, so I can't say I didn't know about them until social media. Certainly I have learned more about particular parks because of social media though. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7: I had never heard of places such as @BighornCanyNPS before the age of Social Media. For all its ills or adverse effects it brings, social media also brings a wealth of information #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7) None, I've been going to National Park Service Areas for nearly 50 years now so I'm up to date on a lot of it. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7. I had been to St. Louis Arch before, but I learned in a #parkchat last year that it had been turned into @GatewayArchNPS! When I learned that, I had to add it to our #roadtrip. A lot of their signage and gift shop items still hadn't been updated when we visited in Sept.

@TouringTastebud A7 #parkchat None, but I might be in the minority here.
Funny, but I also think that many people have learned about national parks that don't actually exist from social media too (eg, mislabeled photos that are actually of a non-park unit).

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7. I've known about Indiana Dunes Nat Lakeshore for decades. It was on Twitter where I learned it was becoming a National Park. It is now the park closest to where I live, a mere 4 to 5 hours away. #parkchat

A7: @adventuremeg1 just told me about @GuadalupeMtnsNP a few hours ago! #ParkChat
