replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam That looks like an awesome time! And great advice to go early to beat the heat! šš¼āļø #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud Iām going to with most of the Parks in #Alaska. I mean most people seem to know about @DenaliNPS But @WrangellStENPS? No clue until I saw it mentioned on twitter maybe six years ago. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7. Iāve learned quite a lot about @GarfieldNPS thanks to their strong social media! #ParkChat

replying to @onestarnature @onestarnature @59NationalParks @Stars252525 Two other finalists: at Greek art museums, they don't let you take pics imitating the poses of the ancient statues, and in Sri Lanka, you can't take a picture with your back turned to a statue of the Buddha #parkchat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud @ParasolViatress @Fiwaysandbyways The worst....or the best! We also love it, hahaha! #Parkchat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A4 Of course I share my photos, videos, and blog posts about parks and other public lands. I also find social media useful for finding out current conditions. #ParkChat

replying to @reallifewithdad @reallifewithdad @TouringTastebud Yes, it is a great way to share your adventures. Long before an article could be published, we travel writers can share our experiences and pictures on social media. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud Glacier is definitely on my list! Wish it was a little bit easier to get to #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace @onestarnature @59NationalParks @Stars252525 Oh thatās cool. #ParkChat

RT @TouringTastebud: Q7. Which National Park did you not know about before social media?
#ParkChat https://t.co/n2Dq2dP29n

replying to @RCGibby73 @RCGibby73 @TouringTastebud @BighornCanyNPS This is so true! Last year the Texas parks hosted a chat that I loved to lurk on because I'd never been to ANY of the spots and I learned so much! @t_jh2009 will remember the hashtag. It was so fun! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash Thatās an awesome map to stare at all day! #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7) None, I've been going to National Park Service Areas for nearly 50 years now so I'm up to date on a lot of it. #ParkChat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee I am sure age plays a part, too. Growing up before social media and the Internet existed, I read about lots of things and that as much influenced where I wanted to travel. #ParkChat

replying to @happytrailshike @happytrailshike We didnāt know about that one either! Definitely need to check it out! #ParkChat

replying to @ParasolViatress @ParasolViatress @naturetechfam @TouringTastebud @beckyjlomax So Tiffany thereās a big #ParkChat tweetup at @SequoiaKingsNPS in July. Weād love to see you there.

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @StevenOnTheMove @WildWithinHer This right here is very, very true. And I used to be one of those people. My feet would barely touch the ground because my only interest was getting to the next scenic spot to capture a photo. Fortunately, I have learned to slow down and my life is so much better for it.#ParkChat

replying to @MandyMPower @MandyMPower @TouringTastebud Yup. Glacier is a goodie. #ParkChat

replying to @MandyMPower @MandyMPower @TouringTastebud It's a tricky one. But that's where airline points help! (honestly, it saved us almost $1k in flight costs) #ParkChat #points

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7. I had been to St. Louis Arch before, but I learned in a #parkchat last year that it had been turned into @GatewayArchNPS! When I learned that, I had to add it to our #roadtrip. A lot of their signage and gift shop items still hadn't been updated when we visited in Sept.

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @WildWithinHer @RoadTripsCoffee You mean you don't post a new photo every day on IG?! #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud I haven't visited many national parks yet, but real experiences in the outdoors and in the world are so much more exciting and impacting than anything on a computer. I enjoy interacting with others online, but it just isn't the same. #ParkChat

replying to @StevenOnTheMove @StevenOnTheMove Yup. Exactly. I am fully capable of reading more than 280 characters haha. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud
@TouringTastebud A7 #parkchat None, but I might be in the minority here.
Funny, but I also think that many people have learned about national parks that don't actually exist from social media too (eg, mislabeled photos that are actually of a non-park unit).

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @TouringTastebud @RoadTripsCoffee You nailed it. National Park Peak. #ParkChat

replying to @theRangerLife @theRangerLife @TouringTastebud @GarfieldNPS Me too! I really enjoy @GarfieldNPS FB posts! #ParkChat

RT @TouringTastebud: Q8. What is your favorite social media to use? Provide a link!

replying to @TouringTastebud
@TouringTastebud Why yes it did! I took this #parkchat binding twitter poll about 18 months ago. It is dictating my summer road trips from 2018-2020.
Mt Ranier & Olympic

Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon of the Gunnison

A8: Considering that Facebook and Instagram are both down right now, and have been for 8+ hours it's easy for me to say that I prefer @Twitter. #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam We definitely didnāt know about all of the national monuments either but social media is the perfect place to find new ones to explore! #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud #ParkChat A8 we definitely love to share thru @YouTube and watch other people's experiences as well! https://t.co/huYpNeesNx

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute I donāt know that I have heard this! Consider me googling after this chat! #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A8 Twitter is as social as I get. I'm an introvert. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A7. I've known about Indiana Dunes Nat Lakeshore for decades. It was on Twitter where I learned it was becoming a National Park. It is now the park closest to where I live, a mere 4 to 5 hours away. #parkchat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud I'll finish up on June 28, if weather cooperates during some bush flights in Alaska #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @DenaliNPS @WrangellStENPS We didnāt know about that one either! There are so many smaller ones that people donāt know about! #ParkChat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee I view social media as something that complements my travel, and sometimes influences it. However, it is not the primary influence. #ParkChat

replying to @tabbsbetrippin @tabbsbetrippin @TouringTastebud True! No matter how much I love real experiences, I as a travel writer have to appreciate the social media which helps me have my adventures. #ParkChat

replying to @TouringTastebud @TouringTastebud A8 some one mentioned this but we really rely on @TripAdvisor for places to stay. They even have room tips specifically. Good for b&bs #parkchat

replying to @MandyMPower @MandyMPower It definitely is not easy to get to! My recommendation is fly into somewhere near, depending on the cost of flights and road trip a little bit! #ParkChat

replying to @StevenOnTheMove @StevenOnTheMove @Twitter Amen brother! š #parkchat I haven't missed a thing today. Except I did get my Insta post out before the crash. š

replying to @theRangerLife @theRangerLife @GarfieldNPS Itās awesome when parks use their social media to give us so much info! #ParkChat
