Q6. Cultures have seen different shapes in the night sky. The Big Dipper, as we may know it, has been seen as many other things (like a bear, a wagon, a plough, etc.). What shapes do you see in the stars? #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6. The Summer Triangle always feels like an old friend when it comes back as the days grow longer and warmer. #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6 #ParkChat I’m always keeping an eye out for Orion, the Hunter. He rotates and moves throughout the seasons

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6: I always can find Orion’s belt, Big & Little Dipper. Planets when visible. But that’s about it. #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6 I am an absolute dud at finding constellations, etc. I can occasionally spot a comet, and I love to watch the space station zoom over. #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6) I'll usually see a variety of geometric shapes in the night sky but for the life of me I have no idea how they came up with the Signs of the Zodiac. 🙄 #ParkChat

A6. The appearance of Orion above the horizon signals the coming of winter for me. Now, the Great Bear is ascendant. I saw an archer in the stars yesterday morning when I was out for my 5am walk. #ParkChat

A6. Just incredibly intrigued to imagine life where you had to rely on the night sky to navigate from one point to the next. #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS #parkchat A6 we love to ask our 11yo what he sees before telling him the common names for constellations! Mountains, bears, and cats have been his favorites. 😉

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6. I guess it's always different. I have a wild imagination, so clouds and stars alike can quickly transform into what looks like the outline of animals or people. #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6: I see a series of mazes in the bright stars and the more dim stars are making their way through it #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6. Well, I've been known to see some pretty crazy things in the stars but I think that's a whole 'nother chat! 😁 #ParkChat

A6 not exactly answering the question, but i had a hard time finding the #southerncross when in a natl. park in australia. had to have a kind local point it out for me. it still didn't look like a cross to me. 😦 #embarrassing #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6 Shapes in the stars? Usually food or something to do with food. Like maybe bacon. #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A6 I love seeing constellations from different locations - at home I have lots of light pollution but at a National Park I can see more stars and gives the constellation a different look #ParkChat

A6. I suppose I see the classic Greek & some occassional Norse Constellations.
I'd like to see one added though....for the Starship Enterprise! :)
