RT @hksbks: @ArchesNPS A7) I'm with @Parkasaur on loons!
My dream would be to hear a wolf howl though. #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A7: waves, when camping near the water. Thinking of @EvergladesNPS, Hither Hills State Park in Montauk, Long Island, Thousand Islands State Park. #ParkChat
RT @noxqq4u: @ArchesNPS A6) I find all sorts of things. #parkchat https://t.co/QFtSYDsNxw
A8. Did a fantastic full mooner just outside your neighborhood at Corona Arch. Spectacular. #parkchat
A2. Portions of Namibia & South Africa such as Kgalagadi Park. A lot of this was done by van camping looking up at the miracle of the night sky. #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS I love spotting meteors - I saw 3 in about 5 minutes camping near @FundyNP last September. In terms of constellations, Orion, Ursa Major, the Summer Triangle...astronomy tends to work as an evening program, so trying to work on those. #ParkChat
A8. I just took my first-ever moonlight hike with Southern Nevada Conservancy and @blmnv volunteers. It was fantastic. I didn't use a flashlight but definitely had to think about where I was placing my feet. #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8. As a full time RVer, I'm always in parks after dark and love taking night hikes, especially in the light of the full moon! I always take a headlamp and some extra batteries and good shoes to keep the snakes from biting. š #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8 #ParkChat My first backpacking night hike was under a full moon in @NCascadesNPS. My husband and I challenged ourselves to go as long as we could without our handlamps. It was a surprisingly long time!
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8. I work for an organization that develops hiking events (@Rainbow_Routes ), and this fall we held a full moon hike & bonfire party. The trails felt silent and peaceful. #ParkChat
RT @ArchesNPS: Q8. Tonight's the spring equinox, and thereās a full (super)moon! (Go look after #ParkChat.) Have you ever taken a full-moonā¦
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @cairochris @Wild_Tribute Yes, if today's full moon fell tomorrow, Easter would be on this coming Sunday this year - instead its one of the latest dates for Easter in years! #ParkChat

@ArchesNPS A8: I did enjoy it right before (pic) #ParkChat
I havenāt taken in a full moon hike but did do a Ranger led hike to Mills Lake in RMNP for the eclipse. It got pretty dusky

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS Iceland #Parkchat i saw this whilst i was there videod by an icelandic friend https://t.co/V0DO5w41xu
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8: most of mine were simply days that went into overtime for one reason or another. Also, both my R'-R-R hikes were timed for it #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8) Never been on a moon hike, but the Detroit Free Press @freep said that the Super Moon would be just a touch smaller than the average Michigan pothole š #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8 #parkchat Have not done that before but it sounds awesome!
replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @blmnv Did you take Jackson along for the walk? #ParkChat

@ArchesNPS A7. The occasional coyote would be ok, but they often wake me up at night if the windows are open. Wish I could hear loons more often. I do enjoy all the night singing birds--owls, mockingbirds, nightjars, etc.
#parkchat
replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @ArchesNPS @WhiteSands_NPS It would be beautiful there! #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute I tried doing a full mooner once, but the rangers told me I had to put some clothes on. #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8) I've been on numerous Full Moon Walks at @JohnMuirNPS, if the moonlight is bright enough I tend to walk a bit slower without a flashlight on going down Mt Wanda so not to trip & fall. #ParkChat
replying to @cairochris @ArchesNPS @FundyNP Love the different cultural stories behind different constellations, too. Oh, Cassiopeia, too. Iām sure if I brushed up there would be more. #ParkChat
Q9. Modern camera technology allows us to āseeā the night sky in new ways. How should parks use these spectacular photos? Could some photos create unnatural expectations for visitors coming to the parks? #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8) We've totally explored by full moon, it's quite something. It's always amazing how much light the moon reflects and the stark difference when it's night and there's a new moon and it's so dark. #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @Wild_Tribute And that's why we love our park rangers! #ParkChat
RT @Stars252525: @ArchesNPS @YellowstoneNPS A5 You know, my first thought was the lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore. Loved it. #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8 Weāve done lots of full moon hikes and full moon ski trips. I tend to prefer the full moon ski trips as the snow picks up so much moon glow. #parkchat
RT @indygifted: @ArchesNPS @Wild_Tribute A2) Isle Royale was a beautiful place for a moonlit hike #parkchat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @Wild_Tribute I was waiting for this. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @blmnv Sadly, no. And I didn't get to see any #burros there. But I had an excellent time: https://t.co/A5Ss18ivk5 #parkchat
RT @ArchesNPS: Q5. The campfire program is the classic nighttime ranger activity. But there are others out there. Tell us about your favoriā¦
replying to @SouthernerSays @SouthernerSays @ArchesNPS @WhiteSands_NPS I bet it's just spectacular on the white sand. #ParkChat
RT @59NationalParks: @RoadTripsCoffee Didnāt you call me a slacker today? #ParkChat https://t.co/i5Dsj1iyb1
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS #parkchat A8 We've done them around our house in @BlackHillsNF & it's fun to turn off the flashlights, get adjusted, & walk through the trees by moonlight! Winter is the best with the white snow offering even more visibility. Different animals by night i.e. flying squirrels here!
replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @ArchesNPS @JohnMuirNPS Ever done the moon bow in Yosemite? Believe itās Nevada Falls? #ParkChat
replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A8: not sure about full moon. I remember nighttime hikes in Madagascar to see nocturnal lemurs. Had headlamps with red light and jumping at my own shadow! Also had a tradition of nighttime lantern nature walk to celebrate winter solstice. #ParkChat
replying to @WanderlustJ1 @WanderlustJ1 @ArchesNPS Ah I'd love to go to the grand canyon anytime of day or night! One day! #parkchat
