Q2. National parks are often located far from human-caused light sources. What’s the darkest place you’ve ever been? #ParkChat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A bummer for sure, but eh, you win some, you lose some #ParkChat

replying to @kokuaelli @kokuaelli @Wild_Tribute Haha! "the animal noises" I hadn't even thought about that. I LOVE the sound of The National Parks' Tree Frog Chorus. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Q1B - any recommendations in Arches for nighttime viewing (i.e., with landscapes)? #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @billbrokob @Wild_Tribute Are we certain daylight has really prevented such behavior? #ParkChat

replying to @billbrokob @billbrokob @Wild_Tribute Hahaha. Not sure I want to see any of those antics. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A1 of course for us, it's nocturnal wildlife! 😁 But I'm also a big fan K of the moon in its many phases! 😍

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: The stars, but also the quiet that allows you to hear all the nocturnal animals that are about. #ParkChat

replying to @noxqq4u @noxqq4u @ArchesNPS We’d love to know how long the bush has been growing on top of Delicate Arch. @ArchesNPS, has it always been there? #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1) well of course the stars and stuff and things that come out in the night. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute I grew up in the country and then moved to the big city. I think it actually hurts more that way. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: we always love stargazing in a dark sky park! #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1) I'm a huge fan of star gazing, and fortunately I have public access to a nearby observatory @KillarneyPP , which was recently named an official dark sky preserve. #ParkChat

A1. The Quiet, or rather, the natural quiet that most ppl have forgotten about.
Its not actually quiet at all, just seems that way, after living bombarded w/noise 24/7/365.
And the Dark. Also, not that dark, just seems that way. :)
I hike,run,snowshoe at Night often. :)

A2. Other than a cave, probably @DeathValleyNPS, an International Dark Sky Park, and Craters of the Moon National Monument. Central Oregon. And of course, my beloved @NCascadesNPS. #ParkChat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A2 When I was in nearby Capital Reef NP, I seem to recall them explaining that it was the darkest (or among the darkest) places in the country. #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS I’ve always thought that to be @GreatBasinNPS Nit so far from you. #ParkChat A2

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @Wild_Tribute I think your instincts are good #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A2 Outside of caves, I would say @BryceCanyonNPS. Skies were gorgeous at night. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: stars and campfire. Then sleeping in a tent listening to the quiet and sounds of nature. #parkchat

replying to @ArchesNPS @ArchesNPS A2) This isn't a National Park of course, but the family cabin is one of the farthest points from any main highway in Michigan, and I have experienced some beautifully pitch black, brilliant starry nights there. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute I was on Haleakala a couple weeks ago. Definitely want to go back to camp. It must be eery at night. #parkchat
