replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A9. #Parkchat I think we should utilize the fact that they are on the screens already and do scavenger hunts like have them take photos and collect data of plants and animal species with their devices so they are engaged and learning hands on.

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A9) Find out what interest them in nature such as flowers, rocks & insects then expand on it by finding if the park has any programs on those subjects. #ParkChat

A9) I think that letting them connect on their level. As kids, we always were most excited to do a ranger talk and the Jr. Ranger program stuff first. Then, when we would be good with scenic vistas and wildlife viewing. #parkchat https://t.co/V6UWoZNu1h

Q10. You have 30 seconds to tell someone why you care about #Yosemite & other parks – & why they should, too. What’s your elevator pitch? #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A9. We've always found that giving our kids unstructured time in nature is one of the best strategies. #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy I use to know Ranger Barbara who ran some of the Happy Isles Nature Programs 30 years ago or so. #ParkChat

A9: When it comes to introducing kids to nature, get rid of expectations and just let them play unstructured and relatively unfettered. Oh, and snacks, lots of snacks. #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy @Wild_Tribute Emma loves the word ‘ADVENTURE’ and all national park trips are an adventure! She loves ‘I spy’ and looking for something in an adventure. Books also help (Goodnight Yosemite is a current fav of hers), even @NatureCatShow on PBS is great! #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A10 National parks represent the best our country has to offer. You should go to every park and monument you can. You will be amazed! #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy National Parks preserve wild places for what they are for the benefit of everyone - and without the commericalism you expect almost everywhere else. #Parkchat

A10. It’s the stuff of dreams, only place in the world...spectacular adventure, sights, wildlife, and scale #parkchat

replying to @melissa_sue @melissa_sue @YoseConservancy @NatureCatShow Raising her right! #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A5. I had one day (it was sooo crowded) and managed to get to The Lower Falls, Bridal Veil Fall, and spent the most time hiking down into Tuolumne Grove. Mariposa Grove was closed when I was there #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A10) You will reconnect with the earth and the beauty of the park will continue to feed your soul long after you've left. #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy "Look, I've lived in NY my entire life and I know Niagara Falls is really amazing. But, there are several waterfalls that dwarf ours in Yosemite." #parkchat

A9 If the kids are anything like my students, I would say, "This will all be on the final." #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @melissa_sue @YoseConservancy @NatureCatShow Exactly right. #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy @Wild_Tribute If you truly want to explore the world and see real, unfiltered beauty with your own two eyes - give a hoot and protect our parks. If not for you, do it for the future who depend on you. #ParkChat

@YoseConservancy A10 #ParkChat Whatever @WildWithinHer says…. 😋
But really, I’d say that National Parks like @YosemiteNPS provide us with natural inspiration, places to admire and explore, and protects wild places, plants, and animals for future generations to enjoy

Q11 #ParkChat In 2014 I argued that the Yosemite Valley was the most beautiful place in America. Do you agree? If not what would be your choice? One answer only please. It’s time to take a stand. https://t.co/TQmNrRU9kN

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Stars252525 @YoseConservancy Love the spiritual and health benefits. #preach #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A10. National parks belong to all of us, to be used and protected by all of us. They are pieces of our natural heritage, monuments to our respect for our world, our ancestors, and for future generations. #parkchat

replying to @coasthikergirl @coasthikergirl @YoseConservancy @YosemiteNPS A10. My answer is always evolving. But I do think that national parks are a truly American phenomenon, born of a desire to protect stunning landscapes and to share them with the world. They represent our best impulses. #ParkChat

RT @59NationalParks: Q11 #ParkChat In 2014 I argued that the Yosemite Valley was the most beautiful place in America. Do you agree? If not…

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A11 It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Truly. #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A10) I'd say listen Woody Guthrie song "This is Your Land" and let them know it really isn't but in fact we're just borrowing it from the next generation so we need to preserved & protect it for them. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A11 #ParkChat I think I’d have to agree. I certainly haven’t been to every corner of the US (and certainly not Alaska!) but @YosemiteNPS enchanted me in ways that I never expected and can’t really describe. If I had to spend the rest of my life in one park, it would be Yosemite.

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @YoseConservancy Is this one of your shots? #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy @Wild_Tribute A10) To paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt: "Experience the great wonder of nature. Do nothing to mar its grandeur, sublimity and loveliness. You cannot improve on it. But what you can do is to keep it for your children, your children’s children, and all who come after you." #ParkChat

replying to @YoseConservancy @YoseConservancy A10. #Parkchat #Yosemite our #NationalParks, and #NationalMonuments are at the core of of what makes this country great, it's our National Heritage and our Wild landscapes that make this home unique & our responsibility to preserve these special places for future generations!

A10 On land that begins with all of us, you will be closer to learning the secrets of the universe and achieving ultimate cosmic unity #parkchat
