Park Trails

Q2. In general, do you most enjoy park trails on oceanfront, islands, forest, desert, canyons, mountains, high meadows, alpine tundra, lakes, volcanic areas, or caves? And why? #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 I agree with Jesus; I like trails on lakes the best #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 I would say all of the above, but I especially like anything mountains because it tends to be cooler. #ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2: Tough questions! Mountains have always been my favorite, rivers & waterfalls! But now living in the desert, I like the vastness of the desert & rocky mountains! #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2) Actually I don't prefer one type of location over another, what I do like are trails that provide me with views and/or something to see along the way & at the destination. #ParkChat
A2. I love forests, alpine, subalpine, and deserts. From the tree tunnel feeling to wide open vistas. #ParkChat

@beckyjlomax A2 #parkchat Trails through high meadows to a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by soaring mountains. Because it’s my paradise.
I was lucky to have this gem of a spot all to myself!
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 one of us would say mountains, the other would say desert or caves. One doesn't mind going up, the other hates it! 😂😂😂 #ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2: Yes...all of it. The more remote, the better. #parkchat
A2 I like trails that traverse more than one ecosystem, like the hike up Mt LeConte @GreatSmokyNPS or the Hoh River Trail @OlympicNP #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2) #ParkChat I like trails to waterfalls or a lake, so I can hike then cool off and at the beach, of course, because I love the sound of the waves and watching the sunset/sunrise.
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2: all of the above, minus caves. I don’t do very well in caves. #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax #parkchat A2 so many choices! 😁 I guess a hike up to a high point for grand vistas would be our fave. Followed by hikes to waterfalls.
A2 I most enjoy hiking through forests because even on hot, humid summer days it tends to be cooler beneath the canopy of leaves. And because if I'm hiking late I'll be treated to the Chorus of the Tree Frogs! #ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 Few feelings match making it to a payoff view when hiking in the mountains IMO #ParkChat
A2) We prefer #hiking and park trails in the forest, you generally have canopy cover, so it tends to be cooler, and there's a lot to discover, with flora and fauna! #ParkChat
A2. Give us Mountains, give us Canyons, give us anything with sunshine, but we’ll take it all...we’re not picky if outside :) #ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2) I like to be near water and am not super picky about what kind. However, if I had to pick, I’d say Rivers > Lakes > Oceans. #parkchat

@beckyjlomax A2. Yes.
Oh, I have to choose? All of these are so different than the corn-soybean-bits of brush surroundings of my everyday life. I enjoy trails that take me into relatively undisturbed areas. It's my way of time travel. #parkchat

@beckyjlomax A2. All of those are great options. I really love forest/mountain/waterfall & pond hikes. Hikes that have all of those in one are the best!
#ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2) I choose my hikes around waterways. Unfortunately I am having trouble accessing my photos to share an example of one of the waterfall rewards @GlacierNPS. #ParkChat
A2. Oceanfront trails are my favorite. A little hard to find for me but the payoff is great. Check out cattus island in #newjersey #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2: I love a combo hike with water. Hiking the Garwood Loop @SaguaroNPS was amazing- desert, mountain, snow, river, waterfalls. One of my all time favorite hikes! #ParkChat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 #ParkChat I like mountain, coastal, cave, and any other trails with a lot of animals.
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 Mountains! Definitely mountains. The feeling of accomplishment. My profile pic is me after walking up Mt Mansfield in VT. #parkchat
replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2: That's like asking what finger is my favorite. Forests are plentiful here in California, but I love oceans, mountains, and volcanic areas as well. https://t.co/CkSs4GlEl6 #ParkChat

replying to @hksbks @beckyjlomax @GlacierNPS A2, Pt. 2) Facebook is still preventing me from accessing my photos, but I did find a @RockyNPS lake photo from a hike on Cub Trail in my camera roll. #ParkChat

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax A2 I love it all, but if forced to chose I'd have to pick mountains. High alpine places are truly glorious! #parkchat
