Next Time...
ParkChat

Q11. “Next Time” is powerful motivation and also an in the moment medicine for disappointment. Be honest, when you say “Next Time...” are you an optimist in pursuing such or lean more towards the pessimistic side, but say it just to make yourself feel better? #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11 #ParkChat I’m an optimist! I know I’ve got the impulse to make my “next times” happen.

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11. Yeah, not so likely to be a next time, but at least we get to experience some of the park #parkchat

A11) There is always a "next time" as far as our parks and public lands go for us. We don't know exactly when it will be (likely retirement for some), but they will be happening again. For us, travel is a need, not a want, so we try to squeeze trips in whenever we can. #parkchat https://t.co/g4w4w6LdFL

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11) Certainly use it as motivation! I'm always looking forward to the next adventure! #Parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11: always optimistic. If it’s on the possible side of things, why not? #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11: Optimism wins every time. And I will be back. #ParkChat

A11 I will probably have thousands more lives, so I guess that makes me an optimist on this question - there will always be a next time #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11 Hmmm. I tend to be a pretty optimistic person so I really do believe "next time" and another visit will happen . #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11. I really think optimistic, but opportunities don't equate. I mean 26 years since Yosemite (and Lassen Volcanic) and 13 since Great Basin. The desire and intention is there, but making it materialize is more difficult. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A11 I could literally spend all day driving thru @BigBendNPS #ParkChat

A11 Optimist but as Frost said “Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.”

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11 #parkchat Generally optimistic on the next time, though I've definitely said it for places I likely won't return to any time soon.

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11: I have a new perspective on “next time” since Notre Dame fire. I regret not taking my kids inside when we were there. I wish I could say optimist, but not so sure anymore. I want to go to @GlacierNPS before it’s gone. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11) I try to put "If there's a" before "Next Time" since no one knows what is going to happen beyond perhaps the very near future. After going through family & personal health issues, I've become a realist about things & have accepted that things might not happen. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11 Depends on the park. A little bit of both, I'm afraid. Some, like @KatmaiNPS, can be difficult to get to and can be expensive. It's a park I do want to return to, though! #parkchat
