Q9. Is a missing passport stamp, an NPS site name/designation change, its expansion, or your failure to see a (insert your favorite wildlife critter here) a sufficient reason for you to think "next time" and plan to return? #parkchat

A9. For Mr. Adventure, a missing Passport stamp is absolutely a reason to go back. The possibility of seeing wildlife will do it for me. Not a name change, though. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9: nothing beats showing people a park you know well for the first time. it's like experiencing all anew again. i've showed so many friends and family around @YellowstoneNPS by this point, and i'm always happy to do it again.

A9. River Raisin NBP for an upcoming expansion (they’re building a period-style pub (!)), Golden Spike’s adding a few spots, Hot Springs’ brewery and seeing a moose in Glacier all come to mind. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9: Absolutely! Last summer, I realized that I forgot my passport book when visiting a NP. Immediately, I exclaimed "I'm definitely coming back here in the future!" #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9 #parkchat I’ll take any reason to plan a return to any national park. 😄
But no, I’m not finicky about stamps or otherwise.

A9 Those reasons aren’t enough to prompt a return. There has to be more to return for most sites. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9: i have returned to parks for lesser reasons, though going back for a stamp (with my new passport book) is pretty common for me. i have a lot of revisiting to do for my new book!

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9: Of course. For me it is usually wildlife or perhaps a backcountry route. But Om not sure one can ever walk away feeling like they never need to come back to a Park unit #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9) #Parkchat I'm going with @coasthikergirl on this one! I'm not going to be sad if I "Missed" something because it's the experience, as a whole, that I'm going for.

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9) No, it would have to be because somehow I missed seeing a key feature of the National Park such as a waterfall in Yosemite that you're only able to see in the Springtime. #ParkChat

A9 I am going to keep going back to @EvergladesNPS until I see a polar bear #parkchat

A9) Missing stamps and name/designation changes aren't for me, but I have made return visits to see more wildlife! #parkchat https://t.co/L2RaZVYFTz

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9) Seeing wildlife is one of my favorite things about visiting the parks. So not seeing some in a park that has the specific habitat for that animal would be a reason for me to return. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9: Nah, it'd have to be something far more serious than that, like missing a major landmark. I was within sight of several of Arches' finest, but I didn't have time to hike close enough for better photos due to the park closing early. I was livid by the end. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9. I try not to be obsessive/compulsive about stamps and things. Birds are another matter. I missed seeing the Colima warbler in Big Bend many years ago, and I must go back! It's a fantastic park, too. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A9 #parkchat For me it's more about the experience, or missing one. I definitely want to revisit to have a new experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way for a name change or a minor expansion. And definitely not for a park stamp (they'll mail you one) #parkchat
