Q3. From government shutdowns to fires to persistent rain or snow, have you had park travel impacted in the last year? Do you have plans to go back? #parkchat

Park Madness is close to being complete! Make sure to cast your vote for the Final Four before Friday! Vote here! https://t.co/XMKMfJJmRW #FindYourPark #parkchat #NationalParksWeek

replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @59NationalParks @tthrash @Wild_Tribute I know it was 85° with humility over here today. #ParkChat

A2 Going back to @MountRainierNPS and actually seeing the mountain this time #parkchat

replying to @coasthikergirl @coasthikergirl @ParksCanada Don’t apologize for national parks in Canada. They absolutely rock. #Banff #Jasper #Yoho #Kootenay #Waterton #Parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @tthrash Every season proves different indeed...in scenery and life #ParkChat

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart That's how I was with Hubs, I keep taking him back to my favorite places, but try to throw in one new thing (hike, area, experience, etc.) for me. #parkchat

A2 When I return to a favorite #nationalpark my goal is always to do something new because there is always so much more to see and do in our park system.
But I'll return to a favorite overlook for sunset. #ParkChat

RT @tthrash: Q3. From government shutdowns to fires to persistent rain or snow, have you had park travel impacted in the last year? Do you…

This is so true! Seasons change the landscapes and time and experience changes us. We aren't the same people when we visit again and the parks aren't either. #ParkChat https://t.co/xWUB73wv9V

replying to @publiclandlvr @publiclandlvr @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones @JDFossilBedsNPS And kinda close to us--at least reasonable driving distance! #ParkChat

replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones Since we finished our 59, we’ve been to National Parks in Japan, Canada and Nepal. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A2. I like to combine favorite haunts with new experiences. If someone who has never seen the area before is traveling with me, it's even better. I can experience the newness again through his or her eyes. #parkchat

A3 We cancelled an entire trip to West Texas and New Mexico. All of the sites we wanted to see were closed. So, next winter! #parkchat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace @MountRainierNPS She's there, I promise. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3) I have to say that I have not had plans or a trip badly impacted. Sure, the occasional bad weather for a day or two but nothing to ruin the trip. Lucky I guess! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3. Been very fortunate to never have that issue but I can imagine I would plan to revisit if it did, sometimes people don't get another opportunity though. #Parkchat

A2 #parkchat I revisit the areas that I can photograph better now with better equipment and skills. Last year, revisiting Steamboat Glacier rewarded me with the longest eruption of the year!

A3 I couldn't get to Harry Truman NHS during the Holiday season b/c of the gov't shutdown. It seems the buck doesn't stop here anymore #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3 Well, because of huge and sad vet bills last year, we had to cancel our fall trip to Big Bend. Trying again this fall. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3: My visits are only impacted by my lack of paid time off #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A2 #parkchat This probably depends on where. For instance, I keep going back to some parks in order to show others, in which case I keep visiting the same (awesome) things again and again. If I'm alone, I tend to explore new things and return to a few old favorites.

replying to @RCGibby73 @RCGibby73 @tthrash @RockyNPS In our larger wilderness parks I feel like you could live a whole lifetime and never fully take it all in. True for parks and other places like the @ShastaTrinityNF. #ParkChat

A3. All we know is that our fingers are crossed over and over we have no wildfire issues doing the JMT in September. Otherwise, snow forced us to abort our first Half Dome attempt in 2011. Difficult lesson to first learn...plans are made to be changed. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3 #parkchat I had to skip a small section of the PCT in Washington due to a wildfire. I know of lots of people who were really disappointed by all the smoke

replying to @wander_filled @wander_filled Sorry, but glad you're planning on going back! #parkchat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @tthrash Um, I think I might be there in November. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3. A planned trip last year to @ShenandoahNPS was halted by snow. We visited @NationalMallNPS instead on that trip and visited Shenandoah later in the year #parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @59NationalParks @tthrash @Wild_Tribute Yes. And I have 8 more tomorrow. Craziness. #parkchat

#parkchat A3) I started research trips for my National Park Book (shameless plug) last year during the *first* government shutdown last January, and visited Big Bend during the shutdown. Honestly I lucked out, made it more peaceful with fewer people!

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @InnerCompass @ParksCanada @WildWithinHer I have it a lot easier. Only 31 visitable Arizona State Parks, currently. #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones A1: revisit parks. There’s always more to see. Also go international. It’s a big country and a big world! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @unconpeace @MountRainierNPS Not to brag, but the mt stayed out 3 days while we were there. So lucky! #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace @MountRainierNPS I didn’t see the mountain either during my first few visits to @MountRainierNPS. She’s an elusive one. #parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones Why collecting all 2,500+ @ParksPassport cancellations of course! #ParkChat

RT @59NationalParks: @Polymathically @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones Since we finished our 59, we’ve been to Nat…

A3. I've cancelled planned trips because of smoke. We rearranged a backpacking trip at @MountRainierNPS because of wildfire. #ParkChat

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @coasthikergirl @ParksCanada Apologizing is kinda their thing #ParkChat

A4) Had to significantly delay my planned visit to @SantaMonicaMtns because of the fires. Will be heading down there next month instead. #parkchat https://t.co/lgJ0QhX6x7

replying to @Wild_Tribute This followed having to abort our Wonderland Trail plans last minute in 2017 due to wildfires...fortunately Parks Canada was a B plan that easily could have been the A plan. #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @tthrash It's either Oct or Nov. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3) I nearly had my visit to Zion National Park in January impacted by the Federal Government Shutdown but it ended right before I left for my trip. #ParkChat

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @tthrash @InnerCompass @ParksCanada Somewhere north of 150 here. #parkchat

replying to @billbrokob @billbrokob @beckyjlomax @ParksCanada Yah… sorry for that. ☺️ #parkchat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @tthrash Let's keep in touch on that, shall we? #parkchat
