replying to @kristarsha @kristarsha @InnerCompass @tthrash @ParksCanada @WildWithinHer I just looked to see how many Provincial Parks are in B.C. I’m not sure I’ve got the chutzpah to visit all 600+ sites. #parkchat

replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones Iguaza is on my list of Top 10 Destinations in the world of any sort. Have an amazing time! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5: Cover as much ground as possible...repeat as required #parkchat I tend to skip the touristy stuff unless I am in a group

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @kristarsha @InnerCompass @tthrash @ParksCanada I know, right?! Sure wish *someone* would do something about that. #parkchat

RT @tthrash: Q5. Limited time off or travel costs can shorten a possible park visit. Plenty can require nearly a day of travel just to reac…

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @WildWithinHer @kristarsha @tthrash @ParksCanada I CANNOT WAIT! #parkchat #goquesting

replying to @RockyTopSkiBum @RockyTopSkiBum @tthrash @GlacierNPS Yes, Craig, you definitely need to put it on your list for this summer! #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash Lucky for me I have @LassenNPS, @ShastaTrinityNF, and @BLMca trails within easy reach, so I have endless opportunities for hiking while Whiskeytown continues to recover. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash Jumping in late to #parkchat ! A3: Last year’s shutdown really impacted our AZ trip. We will be back, easy to say since we have family there.

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A4: I haven’t been to Bryce since 2002. Acadia since 2005. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash We’re a “see a little of everything” as we never know when we’ll be back or if (a bit morbid) it will still be there. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5 We regard our first visit like a scouting trip. We plan and plan. Do everything we can then go back for more on a second trip. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A3: The fires here in California nixed any plans for a return trip to Lassen or anywhere up north, as well as a road trip down to Joshua Tree. Heavy snowfall also stopped my Yosemite plans. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5) If I'm alone I like to focus on certain part to get the most and not feel rushed, if I have people with me and they have never been then we will see a little of everything so I can come back in the future and enjoy/study more closely. #Parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash We opt for the see as much as possible model. It’s exhausting though. Fortunately with my job I can catch naps at work inside an air conditioned camper. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones A1. Kind of surprised that no one mentioned starting on UNESCO World Heritage Sites specifically - a logical next step. #ParkChat

A5 If you had asked me that question 2 years ago, I would have said "see a little of everything." Now I'm older, so I take it slower #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A4 #parkchat A few years ago, I only marked off ONE new national park unit in an entire calendar year. We don't talk about that year.

replying to @kokuaelli
@kokuaelli Glad you're here! #parkchat
And, glad you'll be going back!

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5: Focus on an area and explore it greatly, hit the popular spots early on, freeing up time and planning for revisits as needed. #ParkChat

A4 Wait, I lied. I went to @EvergladesNPS back in 2010 and just went again in 2019. That's the longest in between visits. oops. #ParkChat https://t.co/BMJJWcu4eH

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5 #parkchat First visit is usually a little bit of everything, plus we always try our best to spend a couple nights in the park. Subsequent visits have more focus.

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @tthrash The shutdown did so much damage in so many ways. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks
@59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @rscottjones A1: there are tons of state parks on my bucket list. and, there's always international national parks! some things never change. 😂

RT @publiclandlvr: This is so true! Seasons change the landscapes and time and experience changes us. We aren't the same people when we vis…

A5 Spend enough time to feel like we have really experienced he park. There are a few, however, we need to return to because we didn’t allocate enough time. like @DinosaurNPS #parkchat

replying to @DryTortugasFilm @DryTortugasFilm @59NationalParks @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones @ParksPassport This was part of the reason I made the trip. #ParkChat

A5. So tough. Have to do the highlights when short on time. Be deliberate with the “next time” by choosing the must-do time intensive adventure. #ParkChat

replying to @InnerCompass @InnerCompass @AcadiaNPS Right. No math problems please. #ParkChat

Q5. I like to see a little of everything, then I know what I want to devote more time to later on. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5. See a little of everything. If a park really stands out we’ll return for another visit to explore some more. We recently drove over most of the Smokies in one day #ParkChat

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints Me too. Always sure I'm coming back in a year or two, but a bunch of other parks jump in line in front of it. :) #parkchat.

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart @OlympicNP Every bit and more! Just no begging marmots this time. #Parkchat

A5) I tend to see a little of everything on my first visit and then expand on future visits. Lately, I've been just winging it and I'm not sure if I can handle the chaos anymore, lol. #parkchat https://t.co/QKpAxoICBb

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5: I love to see as much as I can and stay as long as we can. I don’t like quick trips because it doesn’t feel like we really went there. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A4: There was at least a decade gap starting around 2000, due to being too busy with high school, college, and work. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5 #parkchat It really depends on the place. If it's a small historical site, you can get a rather complete visit in just a few hours. A large wilderness park, on the other hand, will take muuuuch longer. For wilderness parks, I usually do a scouting trip more the first visit.

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @tthrash So glad that your journey toward full recovery is continuing! #ParkChat

Q6. You make your own rules for what you consider a park visit, but is your conscience clear? Of the parks you’ve been to, how many have you very eager for “next time” because rain, snow, time, season, etc barely let you out of the visitor center? #parkchat

replying to @tthrash
@tthrash @Wild_Tribute A2: depends on the park, but if i'm in yellowstone, you can absolutely find me at artist point.
#ParkChat

RT @tthrash: Q5. Limited time off or travel costs can shorten a possible park visit. Plenty can require nearly a day of travel just to reac…

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5) It really depends on the park. Some are so big, you only have time for a few hikes and drives. Our trip to Isle Royale was complete. I did not see the whole island but feel like it was a complete trip. Try to get a good feel/experience of the park is the goal.#ParkChat

replying to @wxlada @wxlada @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones Haha. Love this rationale. #ParkChat
