replying to @tthrash @tthrash A7 A rockslide in @YosemiteNPS in 2017 messed with my trip a bit. I had to find new lodging and work around closed roads. It was a fun adventure, but I know I need more time in that park! #parkchat

replying to @rscottjones @rscottjones @tthrash My visits to those places were ruined by the fact that I didn't know they existed #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5. I used to have the approach that I only wanted to visit a park if I had time to see and do just about everything. I've since come to realize that it is still far better to visit just a little bit of a park than to not have visited at all. #ParkChat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 Oooh, that'd irk me. I had a rock fly up into my windshield that had me skip going to Little Big Horn on a road trip a few years ago. Had been there before, but wanted a passport stamp, etc. #parkchat

replying to @wxlada @wxlada @Stars252525 @RoadTripsCoffee @tthrash Good, very good metaphor #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8. I have a lot of happy memories of visiting Maine as a kid, and I'd love to go back to @AcadiaNPS with my folks. #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8 #parkchat When I was a teenager I got to spend a day at the National Mall in D.C. as part of a school trip. My husband had a similar experience. We need to go back to enjoy it together as adults!

replying to @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @evanturkart @SimonKIDS @NatlParkService And we buy their books. 😉 #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8) At my age unless it's someone like @59NationalParks, I'm usually visiting the National Parks solo. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8: I certainly hope so. While I am not against solo ventures and do enjoy them, sharing a Park adventure is a great feeling #ParkChat

replying to @Polymathically @Polymathically @tthrash @Wild_Tribute Dead Horse was my favorite of the 3, we stumbled upon it by accident, but was well worth it #parkchat

A8. Getting my dad to SteamtownUSA to see the Big Boy, and getting friends to join me at Civil War sites were certainly valued “next time” occurrences. #parkchat

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart @wxlada @Stars252525 @RoadTripsCoffee @tthrash Psssh, just 120? It's fine. I've weeded my front yard in 122. Just don't touch anything metal. #forgedinphoenix #parkchat #dryheat

replying to @Parkasaur @tthrash I've also found that I think that I actually find the 2nd and 3rd visit to a park, when I am able, even more rewarding than the 1st visit usually is. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8: A few years back, I spent one day exploring Zion NP with one of my hiking friends. This summer, I'm taking my fiance there for a longer stay to show her everything that I saw and to explore different parts of the park with her. There's always more to see! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A5. I was going to say never, but I remembered my first "visit" to Shenandoah in 1992. I drove up to Skyline Drive from Charlottesville, into fog like I've never seen. I could barely find the Ranger station, turn around, and get off that mountain. #parkchat

RT @tthrash: Q8. You visited a park years ago. Has/will your next time there been/be about introducing it to a friend, significant other, y…

A8 As a matter of fact yes. I will be taking Mrs. to @YellowstoneNPS for the first time this summer. It will be our last road trip ever. #parkchat

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart I'll bet. So frustrating. Someone probably just thought they were beautiful and took them home. #parkchat

RT @beckyjlomax: Day 5 for @Naturetechfam photo challenge. I'm glued to the USGS Norock repeat photography project to study shrinking glaci…

replying to @tthrash @tthrash #parkchat A8 we've done this a bit already with @SleepingBearNPS, but I also can't wait to show our kids @GreatSmokyNPS @ShenandoahNPS and @NationalMallNPS someday soon! 😍

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @CapitolReefNPS Yup, same thing happened with Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon. I had enough free time to spare, but I got flash flooding alerts on the way down there. I turned around and did another day at Zion instead. #ParkChat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @wxlada @tthrash Maybe it's time to upgrade to real sunglasses? #ParkChat

replying to @melissa_sue @melissa_sue @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones A1 or even continents ... i know @melissa_sue would love some national parks in Italy #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Good idea taking a pic of someone's map! #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A7: Cannot think of a time I did not simply adapt and overcome. Even that time my tent blew away #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @evanturkart @SimonKIDS @NatlParkService On behalf of the #ParkChat authors, thank you! @beckyjlomax

replying to @tthrash @tthrash Totally. We both have parks we visited as kids that we’d love to return to together. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @ParksPassport @NatlParkService @Wild_Tribute @rscottjones A! I've got some parks in the Balkans on my to do list so I guess it'd be time to delve in there. Or Chile. #parkchat

replying to @InnerCompass @InnerCompass @WildWithinHer @coasthikergirl @beckyjlomax @kristarsha @tthrash @ParksCanada Better to break California state parks into a few separate quests. That's my plan, at least. #parkchat

A8 I’d love to take my family to Yellowstone. I just have to get them to travel! #parkchat

RT @tthrash: Q8. You visited a park years ago. Has/will your next time there been/be about introducing it to a friend, significant other, y…

replying to @NightSkyPark @NightSkyPark @naturetechfam @Parkasaur @DinosaurNPS Awesome art! Love the dark sky angle! #parkchat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @evanturkart I'm so sad someone wouldn't turn them in! #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A6: we barely got to see Grand Tetons when we were there due to time and weather. Biscayne due to shutdown, limited boat tour availability and young kids. Will go back. #ParkChat

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur @tthrash Yep, I'm with you on that one. Or maybe the 10th,11th...17th time? 🤗 #parkchat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @wxlada @tthrash I'm too cheap #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace @YellowstoneNPS Is that a prediction or an omen? #parkchat

replying to @tthrash
@tthrash A7: i could publicly tweet the story of the time people watched me grunt at some bison as i was unaware, but i'll save myself the embarrassment and say i've had my fair share of unfortunate pictures in parks that beg for retakes with better outfits and makeup. 😂
#ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A7) Had to cut a couple hikes short back in the day. Made a pact with myself to get in shape so that would not happen again. Has worked out so far. #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @evanturkart @SimonKIDS @NatlParkService Amazing support from #parkchat people!

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart @BadlandsNPS @GlacierNPS @LesSchwab Me too! I even tend to avoid dirt roads unless I have a full-size spare. Thankfully, our AAA subscription is up to date! #parkchat

replying to @evanturkart @evanturkart Given what I've seen of your art so far, I doubt it. #parkchat

Q9. Is a missing passport stamp, an NPS site name/designation change, its expansion, or your failure to see a (insert your favorite wildlife critter here) a sufficient reason for you to think "next time" and plan to return? #parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash A8: Sharing it with someone I care about is about the only thing that will take me back to EXACTLY the same place #parkchat
