National Parks Road Trips

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @hksbks @Wild_Tribute Ummm...A chemix on a dash would be an awesome setup! If nothing for the engineering alone to protect the glass while driving. #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4: Been delayed by a herd of elk in RMNP more than once #parkchat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @YosemiteNPS It’s the iconic “tunnel view” just above the Valley. The anticipation we had just before seeing was well deserved. #ParkChat @YosemiteNPS
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @NatlParkService I want to spend a month on the #NatchezTraceParkway A3 #parkchat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4. I saw a bunny run across the road in Big Bend. I've encountered some cows along the coastal highway between Redwood groves. Some bison at a state park. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1. I enjoy the research planning, it is part of the fun and extends the experience and the anticipation. But seeing the plan come to fruition is definitely the best part! #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4 More animals than I could count. GO SLOW. Do not speed. At dusk and in the dark, watch for their eyes. Best way to see animals is go early and late. We are not good photographers. #ParkChat
replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur @this_is_karley @RoadTripsCoffee @YellowstoneNPS Madison Junction to Cooke City is our fav section #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4) Wildlife is common in most of the National Parks I've been to. Keep your head on a swivel and take it slow. Have a passenger take the photos. #parkchat
A4 Of course @YellowstoneNPS would provide the most memorable roadside wildlife viewing for me - I passed a bison on Fishing Bridge going one way while I was going the other way #parkchat
RT @RoadTripsCoffee: Q4 Have you ever encountered any #wildlife while driving through a #nationalpark? What are some tips for avoiding that…
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4: I did encounter some Elk in the road at RMNP on several visits but most of my sightings come by looking out into the meadows and pulling off the road to view #ParkChat
replying to @hksbks
@hksbks @GlacierNPS Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the King's horses and all the king's men,
Couldn't put Humpty back together again.
But where was it ever written Humpty Dumpty was an egg? #ParkChat
RT @59NationalParks: @RoadTripsCoffee Since I once argued that @YosemiteNPS was the most beautiful place in America I better go with that.…
replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @Wild_Tribute @RoadTripsCoffee I’m going to admit publicly that I’m not a big fan of maple bacon. But welcome. Glad you could make it to #ParkChat tonight.
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A2) For me its hands down Yosemite National Park. #ParkChat
A2: I think Crater National Park in Oregon has an incredible view 😍 but there are so many National Parks with different beautiful views. Hard to say. @RoadTripsCoffee #ParkChat
A4 And how could I fail to answer this question without mentioning all the goddam jackrabbits on the road to Wildrose @DeathValleyNPS #parkchat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @tthrash @RoadTripsCoffee @ParksCanada Couple of months friend. #ParkChat
replying to @Fiwaysandbyways @Fiwaysandbyways @NatlParkService I've driven the @BlueRidgeNPS end-to-end twice now. It's my favorite drive in the country. #ParkChat
replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @RoadTripsCoffee So any jack rabbits running across the road in Big Bend! Seriously, so many. Loved seeing the occasional Road Runner! #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee @NatlParkService A3 @ShenandoahNPS’s Skyline Drive and the way it grows into the @BlueRidgeNPS to link to @GreatSmokyNPS has to be one of the most beautifully designed, at the very least in spirit. #parkchat
RT @naturetechfam: Happy #MayDay from the #blackhills of #southdakota! 🥶 #custersd #hifromsd #SDwx #parkchat #outfam https://t.co/pCr88PO5Ex
replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @RoadTripsCoffee A4: Yeah, Caprock Canyons is great for that #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: The constant sense of wonder. You can never explore everything. There will always be something mindblowing to personally discover. #parkchat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee Do the speed limit. Most #NPS roads are 45 MPH or lower for that reason. #parkchat
RT @t_jh2009: @Wild_Tribute @59NationalParks A1) Basically its getting out of the metropolitan area and back to nature is what draws me to…
replying to @hksbks @hksbks @RockyTopSkiBum @Wild_Tribute They used to hang people in the West for comments like that. I'll get the rope. #ParkChat
replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @Wild_Tribute @59NationalParks A1: The planning! Finding the best route or two! https://t.co/SLpZQclVrb #ParkChat
RT @NakMakFeegle: @Wild_Tribute A1 The anticipation of discovering new things and capturing them on camera. #Parkchat
Q5 Some of the best scenic drives in #nationalparks are closed during certain seasons. Name a scenic drive you would recommend for each of the four seasons that is typically open during that season. #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4 Luckily both of my real-life bear encounters have been while I've been safely inside a vehicle! I saw a black bear walking along in Cades Cove @GreatSmokyNPS & a cute little bear cub at the side of the road @ShenandoahNPS. I'm sure Mama was close by! #ParkChat

replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A4) Ran into (thankfully, not literally) Wile E. Coyote @DeathValleyNPS. I admittedly had a little too much fun speeding on the open roads there, so I recommend going slower. #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee @RoadTripsCoffee A2: Glacier's Going to the Sun Road blows my mind every time I've driven it and that's been over a dozen times easily. #parkchat

replying to @TIBTraveller @TIBTraveller @RoadTripsCoffee The Crater Rim Road was sadly closer in more than one sections due to snow when we visited in late June. Need to go back! #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @RoadTripsCoffee Yeah, those are cool too! #ParkChat
replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @JohnMDouglass1 Ummm....Spring? Yay? 🤷♂️ #ParkChat
replying to @RoadTripsCoffee
@RoadTripsCoffee A4: the sign of a good trip is slowing down for the wildlife. it's their home and we are simply visiting. 😊 be aware of the speed limits! taking your time through a park is the best way to see it. no need to speed; keep yourself, those around you and the animals safe.
#ParkChat
replying to @NatlParkService @NatlParkService But of course you concur; you SAID it haha! #ParkChat
