A9 Well, we still haven't adopted the metric system. How many hectares are in a quarter-section? #ParkChat

replying to @RCGibby73 @RCGibby73 @HomesteadNM Maybe I’ll assign that as #ParkChat homework and grade the reports too.

RT @mamanobles: @HomesteadNM @Wild_Tribute @NatlParkService A7: usually get a lot more attention from rangers at the less visited sites. Th…

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM A9) Agricultural is probably one of if not the key factor of the Homestead Act that is still felt to this day. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @kokuaelli @HomesteadNM You can tell I miss the Northeast #parkchat

Q10: What is your favorite "little" @NatlParkService site that you have been to?

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @HomesteadNM Oh great and everyone can hate me since I brought it up. Sounds like a win for you! 😂#ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam Yes, we have to acknowledge the negative side of the #HomesteadAct in addition to the good. #ParkChat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM My teacher husband worked one summer as a seasonal ranger at New Echota ...many moons ago! #ParkChat

A9: I am reminded of the work ethic required to be successful at homesteading! #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace Hmmm, this ranger is not sure on that one....#ParkChat

RT @59NationalParks: @HomesteadNM A9 Huge impact on westward expansion and native populations of course. I think of the Homestead Act in te…

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10: Hot Springs National Park. Small bit beautiful, rich in history and its baseball culture is a plus around these parts too #ParkChat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10. Hm, maybe the FDR site because it started me visiting presidential sites. Weir Farm is another great close one. Fort Davis was another gem worth a mention tonight #parkchat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService #parkchat A10 our most recent favorite is @CapulinNPS ! Drive up the side of a volcano? Yes! Sweeping vistas? Yes! No crowds? YES! 😁

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10: Harpers Ferry & Antietam. Great historical parks that we were able to visit last summer. #parkchat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @NatlParkService @CapulinNPS Awesome! #ParkChat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10) Besides @JohnMuirNPS it might be @WeirFarmNPS in my birth state of Connecticut, it not only has beautiful grounds & buildings but the family history linking the Weir & (Brigham) Young families is interesting. #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService @CapulinNPS Regret not stopping here. Looks beautiful #ParkChat

Q11. “Little Parks” are the nation’s peanut butter to its jelly, focusing on the underscored fabric of who we are as a country. Whether you’ve been or not, what smaller park is an interesting inclusion to the NPS? Conversely, is there an interesting/ notable exclusion? #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService @CapulinNPS Make a point to go back! I had to talk the fam into stopping, then they all enjoyed it so much! 😍 #parkchat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService Favorite is always a tough question but @MontezumaNPS in #Arizona is pretty cool. When there in 2017 with @t_jh2009 #ParkChat

RT @AnneJoLee: @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10) @DryTortugasNPS of course! https://t.co/a0zt0WTuIf #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @HomesteadNM I’m up to 320 NPS Units visited, but I’ve sadly never made it to the gem that is @HomesteadNM - maybe if someday we ever make a family Oregon NHT trip we’ll make a side trip there! #ParkChat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService A10 I’m going with Fort Davis...I had zero idea what to expect and just absolutely loved this “little” NPS site #ParkChat

replying to @HomesteadNM @HomesteadNM A6 #parkchat yes, I have volunteered more than you might guess from my age.

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService Absolutely agree about Fort Davis #ParkChat

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute Yes! AND we have passport stamps not only for the Oregon NHT but also Pony Express and California Trail! #ParkChat

replying to @TomBremer @TomBremer @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService Yes & no, they might be less stressed from the fewer crowds of people but they also tend to wear more than one hat which can be a bit stressful as well. #ParkChat

A10: So many great ones - it’s hard to choose just one! I agree with all that have been mentioned already and will toss in Grant Kohr’s Ranch NHS. That & @HomesteadNM are the only 2 small parks we’ve visited twice 😊 #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11: I think our National Seashores are an overlooked collection of our NPS as a whole. Without those protected areas, how long do the interior ones last? #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @HomesteadNM @NatlParkService @CapulinNPS Maayyybbee next year, I'll fit in with year three of the parks chosen via #parkchat #twitterpoll ...

replying to @JrRangerTigran @JrRangerTigran That's awesome! Thank you for your service! #ParkChat

A11 You know what I'm going to say the biggest exclusion is...Love Canal! I don't believe there is yet a NPS unit commemorating a manmade environmental disaster #ParkChat
