Q5) Have you ever taken anyone to experience nature / backcountry / wilderness for the first time? How did it go? #parkchat

A5: Yes! They came from a big city. They were mesmerized. They have since moved to Alaska! #parkchat #WildPlaces

replying to @BeringLandNPS @BeringLandNPS A5) Numerous times when I was a Leader in the Boy Scouts and was there for the young Scouts' first campout. Many did well while a few decided that Scouting wasn't for them. #ParkChat

A5. We started taking our daughter hiking in a front pack when she was just a few months old. Even though she went through a "no hiking, thanks" period during her teens, now she's excited about being outside again. So I think that turned out well. #ParkChat

replying to @BeringLandNPS @BeringLandNPS A5: I took city friends to a cottage on a lake in Vermont in the Fall with no cell service. I don’t think they even went out to look at the lake. I guess it’s not for everybody. I think they appreciate it more now though. #ParkChat

replying to @BeringLandNPS @BeringLandNPS A5 been introducing this one to nature for a couple years now - at first while babywearing and now she’s hiking on her own. Her eyes light up when she hears that it’s time for another “adventure.” First real camping experience coming up this summer at @IndianaDunesNPS #parkchat
