replying to @TheDetourEffect @TheDetourEffect @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute That looks eerily like "parenthood" haha #Parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @Shawninthewild Well, considering the snow and hail that has defined the last few days here at @GrandCanyonNPS...relieved to see the sun come out just now. Might make for a gorgeous sunset before the rain/hail/snow/clouds return tomorrow. #ParkChat

replying to @Shawninthewild @Shawninthewild @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute It was a challenging time ending 2018 and starting 2019, but things are looking up. How about you, sir? #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @cairochris Now that is nice! Enjoy it #Parkchat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash Thanks for pointing that out! I totally missed it! #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @cairochris Northeast is pretty good too! We had sunny and 72 today too. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Balance is super important to me as I've let work consume me far too many times. However, I've really worked hard the last 5 years to get plenty of time outdoors in our public lands. #parkchat

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute Sounds like that was the theme here as well. Life couldn't be better now though. Infinitely better chatting with you all #Parkchat

A1 I make sure I take enough time off from making a paycheck to take care of my physical, mental, and spiritual health, being in a NP, I can take care of all 3 at the same time #ParkChat

A1 #ParkChat Parks tend to counterbalance work, but work seems to win most of the time. I just with weather was less of a factor when visiting parks.

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A1 we put our paychecks into budget travel, usually to camping in national parks. No fancy daily coffees, eating out, or other extravagant lifestyles for us!

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: There is the home/work balance....and the other half (or more) is the outdoors #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1. It's always about having that next weekend away or that next vacation. National Parks fall high on that list, with many of them planned years out (twitterpolls or no twitterpolls). #parkchat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute a1 - This is more of a stuggle as my boys get older and become more entrenched in activities outside of travel. My oldest at 6'2 / 200 is getting harder to say no to! #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: Family comes first and I love getting them outdoors. It can be tough with work and other obligations. Getting to our National Parks is also tough because of where we live but I try to get to one or two a year #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute I have a secret weapon - iCal + joint Calendars with my wife. I schedule everything. EVERYTHING. Time outdoors are set as adventure time and that's daddy daughter time coincidentally #Parkchat

@Wild_Tribute A1 #parkchat Balance really is everything. I’ve had to rebalance my life over the past few years in order to reduce stress.
Our public lands are seriously stressed too.

replying to @ThatOutdoorGuy @ThatOutdoorGuy It's been a ball watching them all grow up. Glad to hear all are happy and growing! #Parkchat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam The savings add up esp when applied to the best deal in Travel...our public lands! #ParkChat

replying to @Shawninthewild @Shawninthewild Thanks! Yes, I got a big promotion that I start training on next month. It’s nice to work for a company that invests in their own employees #ParkChat

replying to @Bernardine @Bernardine @RCGibby73 With Vandalay enterprise? ;) #Parkchat

A1. I'm not as good at balance as I'd like to be. I tend to put other people's needs first, which means mine fall down the priority list a bit. As always, working on it. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1 I feel like I’m always trying to balance being in the parks with writing about the parks. One is definitely more fulfilling than the other. #ParkChat

Q2 – Nature has been a haven / escape for us all, how do you keep you thirst for the outdoors alive and not stale? (Answers also work for love life 😂) #Parkchat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @Wild_Tribute It's a great way to put money towards the things that count. Experiences with the ones you love and undertanding new cultures and placed #Parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1 Life is all about work right now so concentrating on health & wellness is critical. By that I mean hiking & camping. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @Shawninthewild A2) I work to balance ON and OFF time - i.e. times when I socialize and times when I need solitude. #NationalParks help with the latter for me. My solo road trips rejuvenate. #DeathValley #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace I agree with that trifecta combo for national park visits: physical, mental, and spiritual. #ParkChat

replying to @Shawninthewild
@Shawninthewild @Wild_Tribute I use an agenda that sits out on the kitchen counter. Hubby still forgets to check it to see what’s scheduled.
I like the idea of listing “adventure time”! #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1. Finding time to get away with family and introducing our grandkids to the outdoors is a big part of keeping it all balanced! #ParkChat

replying to @ThatOutdoorGuy @ThatOutdoorGuy You were 110% accurate, little girl is sitting next to me asking me questions about swans and singing me songs. I'm loving life #Parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @Shawninthewild A1. I prioritize experiences over things. Usually. Books are a priority for me. But, getting outdoors everyday is very important. One of my highest priorities is quality travel, which almost always includes public lands. #parkchat

replying to @Shawninthewild @Shawninthewild @Wild_Tribute See I need to be a better planner. Winging it is becoming a problem. #ParkChat

Did I miss something or does #parkchat do it differently, where people answer BEFORE the question is asked? #Confused #MissingOut

replying to @Bernardine @Bernardine @Shawninthewild @RCGibby73 That new wing on the Guggenheim. #parkchat

RT @Shawninthewild: Q2 – Nature has been a haven / escape for us all, how do you keep you thirst for the outdoors alive and not stale? (An…

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1) The outdoors ranks high on my list and its one reason why I have timeshares in Carmel, Lake Tahoe & Sedona to give me a variety. The National Parks are quite important to me otherwise I wouldn't have been a @NatlParkService volunteer for nearly 25 years. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute It's all a sanity play, I'd forget everything if not #Parkchat

A2. I live in a place where being outdoors is just part of daily life. I'd always rather be outside so staleness is not a problem! #ParkChat

RT @louisbink: @hksbks @59NationalParks @Shawninthewild @Wild_Tribute “A room without books is like a body without a soul.” #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: It’s a work in progress, but we definitely prioritize getting out in nature as much as possible, whether it’s the backyard, local or state park and then getting to national parks when we can a few times per year if possible. #ParkChat
