replying to @cairochris @Shawninthewild For example, the individual I referenced in my Q1 answer is interested in history. So thinking of asking if they would be interested in a day trip to Wupatki, would be interested in experiencing that history through their eyes. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4 - I love to walk and take in the sights so a small section of the park could easily take 2-3 days. First visits are the tourist elements but I keep an eye out for the lesser known - if they look awesome then it's a return trip #Parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A4 we have small kids so we learn a lot from trial and error. But for now we are happy with keeping it simple and fun. We know as they get bigger we can adventure further! 😍

A4. I tend to be more conservative--I know what I like and stick to it. Mr. Adventure encourages me to stretch a bit, and I usually enjoy it. No disasters so far, knock wood. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4 The trails in our parks are usually well rated for difficulty which doesn't mean I always grasp my current conditioning and haven't pushed it too far. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4: I spend most of my time in the lowlands of the #Adirondacks, so I pretty much know that almost everything is within my ability. That is, as long as I keep my old body in decent shape. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4) After my ankle injury I've had to slow way down and learn that experiencing a park doesn't mean that you have to be miles from a road. I've learned to enjoy more scenic drives and short, flat hikes. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4: Know your surroundings and conditions along with your own health. The later bit me the hard way last summer when I had to bail on a hike after one night. But we still did 15 miles out and back! #ParkChat

A4 #ParkChat Solid research in advance does wonders. When I ended up with blisters that nixed hiking and backcountry camping plans for Glacier NP, I knew enough about the park to make the most of the trip. And I still get to go back.

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Shawninthewild A3. How, indeed. It takes willpower to manage these two things, and I admit to being poor at this. I try not to over-plan, and go with the flow. Still, I usually manage to arrive at the destination about on time. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A4. Add it all up: T\the driving time, the time for the hike, bear in mind what you did the day before, what you want to do tomorrow, and be reasonable. Lots of park time coming on my July road trip. Won't go nuts hiking every day of it. #parkchat
