replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @mostateparks A1) In our local state park system, #NewYork, most charge for parking which doubles as entry, we have the "Empire Pass" which for $80 gets you into all the parks and beaches for the calendar year. Otherwise, it's about $7-$10 per park. #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @mostateparks A1: @CAStateParks are treasures! There is an annual pass and we have fee free days too! Here's a pic from our mother's day trip to @AhjumawiSP, which is only accessible by boat! #ParkChat
replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @59NationalParks @mostateparks @TPWDparks I’ll be renewing mine next weekend! #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @mostateparks A1) Based on memory, I think both Wisconsin and Michigan have annual passes around $30 and daytime fees under $10. Not sure about the rest, but I kept my Michigan State Parks book out of the storage unit, so I hope to reconnect with them soon! #ParkChat
replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks A2) #NY is ours, too! (but then again, we're in-state neighbors!) #ParkChat
Today at Hammonasset Beach State Park. So nice to not have to pay to get in as a resident. Happy to pay extra on our car registration knowing our CT State Parks will get the money #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @mostateparks A1 - Most Florida State Parks are between $3 & $8. @WeekiWacheeSpgs & Homosassa Springs are $13 because one has mermaids & the other has a hippo 😁 You can get a yearly pass & they have a passport book you get stamped at each park to keep track of where you’ve been. #ParkChat
replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks A2: Our @CAStateParks are so diverse, ranging from rugged natural beauty to places of historical significance. And the interpretation is always meaningful. #ParkChat
A3 I highly recommend Caprock Canyons SP by Quitaque #Texas. Beautiful red rocks and bison. #ParkChat
A3 #ParkChat: Not many realize IL has a few gorgeous small canyons. Starved Rock SP is the most popular, but its neighbor Matthiessen SP is perhaps a little better, and hardly used. It's unfortunately not cared for very well though.
A3 Hurd State Park, CT was quite beautiful the other day. Hiking along the Connecticut River #ParkChat
replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks A2) I'll predictably say MEE-CHEE-GHAN of course! @MiStateParks include beauties like Mackinac Island, Kitch-iti-Kipi, Fayette (pictured here) and so many more! #ParkChat
replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3) On a clear day if you go to the summit in Mt Diablo State Park there's a chance you'll be able to see Half Dome in Yosemite National Park since the vista views from there are supposedly the best in the country. #ParkChat
A3) Rockefeller State Park with @NYstateparks has the LARGEST glacial erratic we have ever seen. (Amy Beth for scale) #Parkchat
replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs #parkchat A3 @CusterStatePark is a definite and backs up to @WindCaveNPS so it is almost a given you have to go! #bison, elk, wild burros, and tons of hiking trails and lakes!
