Q4: How do you find accessibility and diversity in state parks compared to national parks (availability to people with disabilities, people of different socio-economics, accessibility by different forms of transportation…)? #ParkChat #everybodysnationalparks

replying to @coasthikergirl @coasthikergirl @beckyjlomax What’s the snow going to be like? #ParkChat

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @kristarsha @59NationalParks @mostateparks @TPWDparks I've looked at your state parks in WA, just amazing stuff up there! #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks I just did some homework! Wiki: "The largest state park system in the United States is Alaska State Parks, with over 100 sites encompassing 3.3 million acres.” #ParkChat

A3) Rockefeller State Park with @NYstateparks has the LARGEST glacial erratic we have ever seen. (Amy Beth for scale) #Parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs #parkchat A3 @CusterStatePark is a definite and backs up to @WindCaveNPS so it is almost a given you have to go! #bison, elk, wild burros, and tons of hiking trails and lakes!

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A4. I think accessibility is much better at the state park level. at least from what I've seen in my limited adventures. Far more paved paths and much closer to a more diverse population. Heck, we have several right here in or near the DFW metroplex. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3: In TN a lot of them have lakes or waterfalls #ParkChat

#ParkChat I'm a big fan of Mt. Washington State Park in New Hampshire. Most people don't realize that the Rock Pile is actually a state park

A4: It depends drastically on the state. Some states are phenomenal about this - usually the ones who have upgraded most of their parks in the last decade or two. New Mexico, Indiana, Alabama, and Louisiana come to mind. #ParkChat https://t.co/iPSCfcOPan

A2. We spent quite some time in Louisiana last winter and they have some amazing state parks and historic sites. Seemed to be a range of admission fees but hubby qualifies as a senior now so that helps. #parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs #parkchat A4 it seems that in SD there are more paved trails or partially paved, lots of boat ramps, easy a Ed's, and tons of tourists for diversity!

replying to @RCGibby73 @RCGibby73 @kristarsha @59NationalParks @mostateparks @TPWDparks I know we say this all the time, but we need to visit some together! #ParkChat

A4 At least with out local state parks and Kennesaw Mtn NB and Chattahoochee NRA, I would say they are pretty comparable. #parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A4) We have found it varies greatly by state, but none really seems to match the #NPS efforts. We'd love to hear about states that are exceeding at this! #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3: this one is a bit sad 😔 Sleeping Giant is our favorite, but it’s closed due to the tornado that ripped through the park. We’ve walked the tower trail a million times & climbed up to the head #parkchat

replying to @misskimmy13 @misskimmy13 We really loved Palmetto Island in Louisiana. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A4: Plenty of diversity. Not certain about accessibility, since I usually in the wilder sections #ParkChat
