replying to @kokuaelli @kokuaelli @EverybodysNPs Sleeping Giant is a jewel in CT for sure. So sad he is still closed #ParkChat

replying to @misskimmy13 @misskimmy13 Poverty Point and nearby Poverty Point Reservoir were great! #Parkchat

replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @RCGibby73 @59NationalParks @mostateparks @TPWDparks When y’all start hitting the ones around Austin (Pedernales Falls, Bastrop, McKinney Falls, etc) let me know! #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3. Illinois...Starved Rock SP, for the canyons along the Illinois River, especially beautiful when waterfalls freeze in winter. Also Mississippi Palisades SP, for river views and great hikes. #parkchat

RT @billbrokob: @EverybodysNPs A3: In TN a lot of them have lakes or waterfalls #ParkChat https://t.co/8IVyqJjdQ4

A4 I must have heard at least 20 languages being spoken last time I was at Bear Mountain @NYstateparks. And the trail to Breakneck Ridge in Hudson Highlands SP even has its own Metro North stop! #ParkChat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 This and Palo Duro are both on our list. Very interesting stories behind them, too. #ParkChat #historynerd

RT @NatlParkPodcast: A4: It depends drastically on the state. Some states are phenomenal about this - usually the ones who have upgraded mo…

A5: Some are great spots to camp for visiting a Natl Park, lol #ParkChat https://t.co/QiyZ3NmJ1p

A5 For us in CT the state parks are closer so we can visit them more often. Easier to get to, can do after work #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A4) I've found that the accessibility & diversity varies from park to park in the State systems just like the NPS. In some parks they're meeting the standards while others are exceeding them to meet their visitors needs. #ParkChat

RT @t_jh2009: @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks A2) I'm partial to both the California & Nevada State Park systems, each are ADA friendly & prov…

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3: Although I'm not from #Texas, recently we visited @ColoradoBendSP and explored #GormanFalls; and recommend this very lovely park and hiking trail. #ParkChat #hiking

replying to @AmyParulis @AmyParulis Great choice. That most famous rock pile in the northeast has us eager to go back and do the entire Presidential Traverse #ParkChat

replying to @castlecrags @castlecrags Oh, @castlecrags. you know I love you! #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A3 When you come to Florida be sure to visit @WeekiWacheeSpgs because mermaids of course! Such a unique thing and part of FL roadside history. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @NYstateparks That’s ‘cause @RCGibby73 gave me a talking-to when I said I would miss next week’s homework. #ParkChat

RT @EverybodysNPs: Q5: What are things you like to do or see at a state park that may not be available at a national park? #ParkChat #every…

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A5. I do the same things in both. I enjoy scenery, I like to hike, and I love to camp. I'd say it's probably easier to camp in a state park, though. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs Many state parks in the Midwest offer trout fishing which I enjoy. Can’t always get to a mountain stream so such opportunities are welcome. #ParkChat

replying to @ParksandPoints @ParksandPoints @Wild_Tribute @mjn126 @kristarsha @59NationalParks @mostateparks @TPWDparks It's a cape. But disappointing to seafaring explorers who mistakenly thought it did NOT lead to a great river. It's at the mouth of the Columbia, so boy, were they wrong. To be fair, the entrance bar to the river is one of the most dangerous in the world. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute My favorite playground. Only 4.5 hours away, lol #ParkChat

replying to @hksbks @hksbks @EverybodysNPs @NYstateparks @MiStateParks Definitely some beautiful parks in my former home state, @MiStateParks! We have a backpacking trip planned for this fall in the Porkies! #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A5 I think I do the same things, basically, except the state parks tend not to be so crowded. #ParkChat

replying to @MarceaCazel @MarceaCazel @EverybodysNPs @WeekiWacheeSpgs @FLStateParks Didn't make it to Weeki Wachee but really enjoyed swimming at Rainbow Springs SP! #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs Camp with hookups with our travel trailer. We can and do dry camp but when the weather is cooler or hotter having electric is nice for heat or A/C. #parkchat #everybodysnationalparks

A5 A lot of times, the campgrounds at state parks are better/ have hookups. We are staying at four state parks on our road trip to the Great Lakes this summer. #parkchat

replying to @AmyParulis @AmyParulis I was going to say the same thing. A day trip to one since they are so close or to be able to hit up as many as I want in a day. #parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A5: Sometimes just being able to chill without it being crowded is a blessing. I have a favorite spot I go to in Tyler State Park and take in the stillness and the birdsong. #ParkChat

replying to @unconpeace @unconpeace That seems like a great add-on field trip for the #ParkChat meetup in June! @naturetechfam

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A5 I like the state parks that really celebrate native heritage….buffalo jumps, historic sites, tipi rings. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs State Parks are often more a park of the local community. I have always enjoyed that aspect of visiting star parks. #ParkChat

replying to @billbrokob @billbrokob @EverybodysNPs #ParkChat A5 Fishing! Swimming! Boating! Water access in general.

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @EverybodysNPs @Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @NYstateparks @RCGibby73 He’s a stickler. #ParkChat

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @EverybodysNPs @Wild_Tribute @ParksandPoints @NYstateparks You need the extra credit if you’re gonna hand next week’s work in late anyways 😁 #ParkChat

Q6: What are some qualities you treasure most at state parks that you don’t find at national parks or vice versa? #ParkChat #everybodysnationalparks

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A5) At the Sand Harbor section of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park & Point Lobos State Reserve in Big Sur they'll close the area of vehicle traffic once the parking lots are full, I've yet to see that in a NPS Area. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs A4. Accessibility is improving. Some of the better facilities I've seen are found in county parks. #parkchat
