Q5: Meriwether Lewis and William Clark tend to get all of the credit for the expedition’s success. Who else was involved and how did they contribute? #parkchat

replying to @LewisClarkTrail @LewisClarkTrail A5. Sakakawea was a real hero for the Expedition, without her contacts and quick thinking, they likely would not have made it. #ParkChat

A5. It's hard to pick, really. How about the Nez Perce, who fed and sheltered the Expedition when they came out of the Bitterroots half-starved and sick? #ParkChat

A5. The story of York and Sacagawea are incredible. The aftermath moreso bittersweet. Glad Louisville, KY honors York with a statue on the city’s riverfront. Anyone seen it? #ParkChat

A5. They would have had a tough time making it without Sacagewea. She was an amazing woman from what I've read. #parkchat

replying to @LewisClarkTrail @LewisClarkTrail A5) There's both John Colter and Sacagawea who played key roles in the expedition. #ParkChat

replying to @LewisClarkTrail @LewisClarkTrail A5. Whether it was luck or exceptional forethought, the members were well chosen. They should all get credit. So many other expeditions lost many members, or failed. #parkchat

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur @LewisClarkTrail @ParksPassport That was going to be my mention as well! #parkchat A5 when I was about 9yo we were at the memorial in Sioux City and I swore I could hear Native American drumming and chanting. My family thought I was nuts. I can still clearly remember it all, over 30 yrs later.
