Bison and Texas State Parks
ParkChat

Q6: #ParkChat Bison and human interactions have taken place at Caprock Canyons State Park for at least the last 10,000 years as documented by the Lake Theo Folsom Bison Kill archeological site. Those interactions have changed over time, but what, if any have stayed the same?

A6 People still regard bison as a food source, although the meat comes from ranched bison instead of wild. I think. (I never have tasted bison since Iām a vegetarian!) #ParkChat

@Donald_Beard #parkchat A6 daredevil warriors coming right up to a #bison? š Sorry. Had to get some humor in tonight.
Hopefully no one today is out harvesting bison for survival. So that has changed.

A6. Humans rely on bison for many things: food, shelter (robes and skins), indicators of other species, to name a few. The idea of bison as sport, I think, is mostly gone now. Thankfully. #ParkChat

replying to @Donald_Beard @Donald_Beard A6) Human stupidity has probably stayed the same for generations, otherwise we wouldn't have people not respecting the distance between them & the Bison. #ParkChat
