Celebrating Food and Drink

A2. I am preferable to the Highlands and islands for the comfort food and the prevalence of the smokey, peaty whisky that is my favorite type of Scotch.
And when there with @_dantevincent_ we always have to get haggis. #ScotlandHour
A2 For me its got to be the amazing craft beers from @SwannayBrewery in #orkney #scotlandhour
A1 You can't visit them (yet) but I am a big fan of @NorthUistDistil Downpour gin which you can order to pick up from the shops (for added Scottishness, cut some heather with your car keys and add as required). #scotlandhour
replying to @ScotlandHour @ScotlandHour A1 Well I'm gonna say Scottish Gin of course! It'll take you right across Scotland, from cool island shores to urban hot spots and everything in between. It's Scotland's fresh new spirit enjoyed around the world, but never tastier than here at home! #scotlandhour
A2. If you’re going to try haggis, make it a champion one! Pick one up at Cockburns Butchers in Dingwall - Scotland’s first Champion Haggis Maker - or enjoy it prepared for you in many establishments around the #NorthCoast500! #ScotlandHour #NC500 #ScotlandisNow

A2: There's lots of delicacies we love!
@MacsweenHaggis is produced in Midlothian, and in the Borders, try the world-famous, original Selkirk Bannock by Alex Dalgetty & Sons. It's best served with butter, and we love it toasted 😋#ScotlandHour
A2: And of course the wonderful Selkirk Bannock also exists in gin form thanks to Selkirk Distillers. #ScotlandHour
replying to @ScotlandHour @ScotlandHour A1. They do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. #ScotlandHour
A2. We are biased but our @WalterGTonic picks up a salty note as it is made here, only half a mile from the sea. Great with any coastal or island gin #scotlandhour
A2. This iced doughnut packed full of scrumptious cream is like a little piece of heaven! A visit to the award winning @HarryGowBakery for a taste of a #DreamRing is a must for any visitor to the Highlands of Scotland. #ScotlandHour #NorthCoast500 #NC500 #ScotlandisNow
replying to @ScotHeritageSMG @ScotHeritageSMG It sure is! One of the best hours on twitter every month. #ScotlandHour
A2: A newer addition to our range of local delicacies is the Melrose Tart by Dalgetty’s.
With a honey, brown sugar and ginger filling, it links into local history: Monks produced honey at Melrose Abbey for centuries. #ScotlandHour
A2 Lots of places in Argyll to get the most fresh seafood straight to the plate. You can even see it being landed #scotlandhour

Now that I did not know. But I of course tried one during my first ever trip to Scotland. In Edinburgh with @BudgetTraveller not long after a meal that looked like this:
A2. This is the delicacy from @SeaKayakPlock - our famous flapjack that every customer has for their elevenses while out on the water. The oats that became a legend! #scotlandhour
A2: With over 140 food and drink producers in Midlothian and the Borders, it’s impossible to choose a favourite! From @ooftsauce to @OverLangshaw ice cream, we have enough producers to create amazing food festivals. On that note… on to Q3! #ScotlandHour
A3 The BrewDog AGM, hosted in Aberdeen in April attracts thousands of visitors to the city every year with a positive impact for tourism businesses throughout the city for the whole weekend #scotlandhour
