Q5. What part of Scotland excites you the most for its history, myths and legends? #ScotlandHour

A5: #Orkney holds a range of stories & myths.
From sea-dwelling shape-shifters close to Eynhallow Church to brownies once inhabiting the Click Mill & tales of the Dwarfie Stane housing dwarf Trolld in Norse sagas, these sites look like they could tell many a tale! #ScotlandHour

A5 Hmmm all of Scotland is exciting and full of discoveries but we'll have to be biased and say Mackay Country! #ScotlandHour So many stories. #HighlandClearances #Jacobites #UboatSurrender #ClanMackay #RobDonn

A5: We are lucky to overlook a fair bit of central Scotland with many amazing historical sites in the area including @TheWallaceMon and @welovehistory sites Castle Campbell and Doune Castle. #ScotlandHour

A5. You won't be shocked that we find #Edinburgh's history the most exciting! From the medieval Old Town, to the Georgian New Town; there is history around every corner. #DYK @Edinburgh_CC was once The Royal Exchange, built in 1753 as a market place. #ScotlandHour

A5: Perhaps unsurprisingly, we love the tales and folklore of Midlothian and the Borders.
From the tragic story of the apprentice pillar at Rosslyn Chapel to Muckle Mouth Meg and the Border Reivers, there's magic, wars, love and so much more #ScotlandHour

@ScotlandHour A5 - so hard to choose. My personal favourite is probably Kilmartin / Dunadd as so much is hinted at but unknown. Also great food like The Fisherman's Kitchen

A5 I'm a big fan of the history of the Outer Hebrides - the prehistoric bits, the different islands invaded by Vikings and becoming independent and splintering from Norway, the free church and the many icons of the Virgin Mary. So different, despite the geography. #scotlandhour

A5 I am always surprised to find Second World War defences built into islands, left by little harbours in the hope a single gun might be enough to ward off invasion. This one on Coll just up from the ferry. #ScotlandHour
