#ScotlandHour A1: Personally, when I hear "rural" Scotland I don't think wild & rugged but tame & tranquil. My mind conjures fields, not mountains, and pasture instead of machair. Of course all apply, but my associations with the word were shaped early on by Tolkien's Shire
