Oh no! Missed half of the sea and boats #ScotlandHour. Let's throw in an answer to Q1 - obviously St Kilda. I was the only one on the boat not to throw up on the way there - but absolutely worth losing sight of the horizon every 10 seconds for 2 hours.

A5. Would it be biased of us if we were to say the route from Scrabster to Stromness, sailing past the spectacular Old Man of Hoy!

A3 As I say every month, I'm a huge fan of Coll. Of course you *can* get one of the tiny yellow planes but usually it's just sailing out from Oban past Mull until you're looking out towards Barra. #ScotlandHour

A4. So you don’t have to get to it by boat, but you can if you wish; the wee cafe at St Abbs Harbour (Ebb Carr’s) is a fantastic spot and serves freshly caught seafood 🦞

A5. Our dream route by boat? SO hard to choose but we definitely have a soft spot for 'Britain's most beautiful shortcut' the #CrinanCanal!

A5 If I had the upper body strength, I'd follow the same route taken by #Columba and Aedan mac Gabran - up the Great Glen from #Mull to #CragPhadraig - it was far easier to travel by boat in the C6th. Waterways were more like highways. #ScotlandHour #YCW2021

A5 I'm a big fan of the @CalMacFerries route from Lochmaddy to Uig. Of course you get trapped in the never-ending parade of cars all the way down Skye, but the Little Minch usually guarantees some delightful weather, waterfalls, lighthouses, and dolphins. #ScotlandHour

A5. Our dream route would be a cruise down the Crinan Canal, "Scotland's most beautiful shortcut" - it must be a capital way to see Argyll, with sunsets like this at the end- @scottishcanals #ScotlandHour

A5) Mmmm, I’d take one of the many scheduled (not scheduled 😉) tall ships from Islay’s best Distillery, Bunnahabhain, for a weekend of debauchery in Glasvegas, then get the lifeboat home!

A6. Giving some love to @CalMacFerries with all of these! A great experience going to/from Isle of Arran. Rainbows on the way there, gloomy the way back - but still smooth sailing. #ScotlandHour #YCW2021

A5 the 45 minute sail from Oban - Craignure takes in amazing scenery and you even catch a glimpse of @DuartCastle and Lismore Lighthouse. If you're lucky you might even see some basking sharks, minke whales, dolphins or porpoises #ScotlandHour #YCW2021

A6. The 'ship that never sailed' majestically overlooks the Firth of Forth. 💙

A5 But realistically I think my dream route by boat is probably all around the lighthouses. I'm aware they're designed to keep you away, though, so this might end in disaster. #ScotlandHour

A6. My favourite Deacon Blue song a ship called Dignity. "Will sail her up the west coast through villages and towns. I'll be on my holidays. They'll be doing the rounds. "
