A1 ‘Highland Mary’ who Burns had a brief love affair with, was originally from Dunoon & he composed a song about her titled “The Highland Lassie O”. She sadly died from a fever in 1786, & is buried in Greenock. She also has a statue in Dunoon which was built in 1896 #ScotlandHour
