A3: Often, excursions arranged by a cruise company are more expensive than what you could negotiate on your own. Book local when you can, but if there’s something you really, REALLY want to do, book it ahead of time so you're guaranteed availability. #TBINChat #getmyboat

A3. I typically book shore excursions through cruise lines because it is so easy. Once, while on the @VikingCruises Romantic Mediterranean route, I booked a walking tour with @LivItalyTours, and found it a great way to see Rome in a day. https://t.co/VaoZ72jSmt #TBINChat #travel

A3 It depends on the port and shore excursion - if unfamiliar or it’s going to require extensive transportation to get to excursion, Book with cruise in case of any unforeseen issues. You don’t want to miss the ship if the bus breaks down!

A3 For shore excursions, I usually prefer to book directly with a local tour company to encourage local businesses, but I sometimes go though the cruise line if it means easier options! #TBINChat

A3: When I go on trips, I usually book directly with local companies. Seems to be cheaper to do it that way most of the time. But if a cruise line had a really awesome tour package with lots of places I was interested in, I'd book with them. #TBINChat
