A3: Built in 1897, Fremantle Markets is full of quirky stalls, lots of cheap fruit and veg and a variety of food including some of the best Indo food around #trlt
A4: Not in any conscious way. However it's no effort at all to connect with locals on markets. Just start talking and ask questions about the goods they sell, show genuine interest in what they do or how life is, make a joke or ask to participate & a connection is there.

replying to @Pura_Aventura @Pura_Aventura @TheTravelCamel @iamvagabond Yep, we definitely got into the fashions at the Otavalo Market & fav place to shop in Ecuador. The fruit is off the charts, too #TRLT
A4: Markets can be a way of interacting with everyday life in a new place. Like this Amish market in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania #TRLT #travel #TravelTuesday
A4: Being able to try new produce you have never heard of before is a definite connection! This little guy in #Colombia tastes like passionfruit but is shaped like a banana! #TRLT
A4: Markets allow you to observe the daily lives of people in places you visit - especially if the market is almost exclusively used by locals, such as this market in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @iamvagabond A3: #GranvilleIsland in #Vancouver π¨π¦ is a must see market when visiting here. #TRLT
A4: Markets connect tourists to locals who are more likely to live their more traditional or down-to-earth culture #trlt
A4: I feel connected to local places by the markets because anything I purchase will always remind me of that unique place. This is a tiny Andes Mountains market in #Peru. Elevation 13,000+ feet. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A4 Markets make it easy to speak (or at least gesture) one-on-one with a local and learn about local preferences and traditions. pic: Corsica market with @VikingCruises Chef Anthony. @CharlesMcCool #MyVikingStory #travel #TRLT
A4. You get to share the day-to-day experience with locals, learning more about how they live.

A4: markets are a great place to stop and chew the cud with locals. We stopped & had coffee with Mr Sharif in the market in Stone Town, Zanzibar. Great coffee, even better chat. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A4 : They are places all kinds of people go to. You can often find the best of a country in them. Pics : Tel Aviv, Florence #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @iamvagabond A3: Market of markets, the Grand Bazaar, Kapali ΓarΕΔ±. Even on a grey day #TRLT
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 A4: I always end up chatting with stall holders when I buy things! I ended up buying a β¬26 piece of orange confit nougat because I liked the stall holder so much! LOL It was fabulous though! #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A4 because the vendors (and most patrons) are locals. This is from Morocco and @TheTravelCamel did not even know I was there. π€£ #travel #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A4: Markets are a great way to meet the locals. They can also be a way of advertising other events in the area. Such as here in Peterborough last summer. #TRLT
