A2: Siem Reap during the rainy season can be hot and humid and wet. Quickly learnt that the best time to visit the Angkor temples was either early morning or late afternoon. Plus, if a storm does come - just wait, it will pass soon enough. #TRLT

A2 During extreme weather, we hunker down, and make the best of the situation. We indulge in the spa amenities if were at a hotel, enjoy a delightful dinner or play crib in the back of the vehicle were camping in.

A2 #trlt In the case of Washington DC, I thought the safest plan was to put the electronics in the bathroom, go down to the lobby with video camera in hand and wait it out down there.

A2. Lightning storms in South Africa, especially in the Highveld, can get quite hectic but usually, you are able to ride it out. We used one such storm to just cosy on up in our tent, & enjoy the spectacle.

A2. Once I was on a ferry from Tsushima to Hakata and a fog came so dense they stopped the ferry, decided to land at a different island, bus everyone to the other side to try to get out of the fog- and take another ferry. Thankfully some locals helped explain & I got home. #TRLT

A2: Well, I went to Japan 3 weeks after the Fukushima earthquake and tsunami and while terrible for the country it worked out well for me as there were hardly any tourists around. Tourist areas were a lot less crowded for that peak time of year! #trlt

A2: Are earthquakes weather? Well, if they are, I enjoyed the aftershocks in Japan. One hit just after I checked into a hostel and the reception guy ran up afterwards and said "Shelley-san, are you ok?!" and I was laughing saying, "Yeah! That was awesome!" lol #trlt

Turned out it was a Sherlock Holmes themed pub so I indulged myself with several portions of cauliflower cheese ā a much needed taste of home. #TRLT
