We are is excited to finally be on our cruise to South America for 53 days. So many great new counties to discover in South America. And I am sure we will find lots of unique animals with wings on our travels! https://t.co/sLjpHWVYcG #TTOT #TRLT #TBIN

At night on a Guyanese river near Sinnamary, a dragonfly attracted by the light of the torch.
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @FunInFairfax Q2) Love bird watching in #CentralPark! If there aren't enough birds in the park, you can just head to the #zoo! #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel Thanks. Will try to join in next time as well. Have to bathe the kids now. Whole different kind of flying species when they get tired. But with little angel-wings on their backs. Does that count? #trlt
A3: One of the strangest or most unique animal with wings I've encountered was a fascinating glimpse of these parakeets in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
The birds worked together to chase away the nearby iguanas, so they could feast on this termite nest.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A3. I love eider ducks, and while they’re not especially strange sights on the coast of Scotland I wasn’t expecting to find one in landlocked Switzerland. #TRLT
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @wheresshellyii Yes, they are tricky to photograph - but at least they can stay in one place for more than a few seconds. #TRLT
replying to @JordanJaunt @JordanJaunt Hmm, that makes you smarter than me. I think I would try. Maybe. I like trying to make friends with weird animals. #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A2: Not so strange, but absolutely fascinating - this video was taken a few weeks ago along the Seattle waterfront. Mesmerizing watching these starlings flying together unfazed by the city noise. It's called murmuration. #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill
replying to @JordanJaunt @RTWBarefoot @TheTravelCamel @wheresshellyii I laughed. Then 5 mins later I screamed as a butterfly the size of a plate flew into my face #trlt

Q4: A culture where birds play an important role? @FuninFairfax #TRLT I did a cruise on the Nile and this kingfisher landed on our railing. Obviously birds were important in Ancient Egypt as we saw from hieroglyphics. I wonder if birds are still important in Egypt?

A4: #NewZealand treasures their birds. Conservation of bird and other species is part of the culture (especially with rare birds like the Kakapo which is nearly extinct). While I didn't get to see one of those, this is a rare South Island #Robin. #TRLT
