A1: Depends on the reason for travel. If on my own, usually @HIExpress (for conferences or meetings), or a smaller family run property (that is close to places to photograph). If with the family, we need more facilities, so usually @HolidayInn or @CrownePlaza #TRLT

A1: Staying in less than amazing places forces you out and gets you exploring. As long as there's a comfy bed, I'm not fussy. One highlight from this category would be Damascus, where the bath amenities included the classic shower head over the toilet gag.

#trlt A1: i stay in whatever, really. Unfussy. Usually hostels or guesthouses. Have been known to stay in tents while hiking. Tend to avoid anything about 3* hotels because really, i never saw the point for what I use hotels for ,,,

A1. Luxury cabins/cottages, especially if they come with a view of a glacier. Space to relax, spread out, and the ability to cook comfortably make them a great base for vacations/travel.
