Mountains & Hills
TRLT

A1: For our Anna, it has to be Sutton Bank. She loves trekking up to the very top each time she returns to her Yorkshire hometown. And we can see why – just look at that view! #TRLT

A1 Only small hills around Toronto. But first real hills we probably ever saw and went up were Blue Mountains in Collingwood. Really hills not mountains! As seen when I was flying in winter. #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 @JLipowski @heidiSiefkas @pip_says @Touchse @HMoat

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: I’ve long had a love of nature, including mountains. This is a trip I did ages ago (before I was a travel writer) in Italy’s Dolomite mountains. #TRLT

replying to @pip_says @pip_says Hi from Clevedon, where we have the pleasure of looking over at the Welsh coast even if we can’t visit it 😢🏴 #cymruambyth #TRLT

A1: It’s Mam Tor in the Peak District for editor Carys. A series of dramatic landslips here have created several smaller hillocks around the fragile peak’s base, hence the nickname ‘The Shivering Mountain’. #TRLT

A1: The first hill or mountain I climbed that gave me a love for mountains? Probably somewhere in Switzerland? Can't say. This is in Austria. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: I hadn't really been anywhere with mountains prior to visiting Salzburg. I was completely blown away. The views up at the fortress were breathtaking and worth going up for! #TRLT

A1: Author @PhoebeRSmith was bitten by the adventure bug when she hiked up Bryn Euryn in Wales aged 6. Naturally, she had to include this pint-sized peak in her book, Britain Best Small Hills: https://t.co/MboCoOmSo6 #TRLT

A1 The bluffs in Western #Wisconsin were my intro to hills & #hiking. This is a picture of my hometown Trempealeau, Wi, which is right on the Mighty Mississippi River via @HMoat #TRLT #traveltuesday #travel #adventure

A1. So I can't remember the first hill I climbed, my family has always been into hill walking so I started young, so instead I'll go for the #Lakeland #Fells where I done my first ever hill race. That was 2019 and unfortunately Covid has delayed any further racing #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: Zugspitze in Germany but I've got no digital pics from that time as it was anno 90's. #TRLT

A1: Would have been in the @BreconBeaconsNP as a Scout in the early 80’s (with occasional forays up such as Snowdon). No photos from then, so this is from a solo morning walk up past Llyn y Fan Fach about 30 years later.

@RTWBarefoot Likewise, growing up in a suburb of Toronto, I didn't see many hills or mountains until I moved West.

A1: the first mountain I climbed was Mt Sinai in Egypt. We set off at 1am to summit for sunrise. And I fractured my collarbone two days before 😅 such an adventure. Definitely started an obsession! #TRLT
