replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @HMoat A1) That would be Mt Diablo in the San Francisco Bay Area, though I had been to the summit via automobile a number of times beforehand when I & a few other members of my Boy Scouts troop decided to hike to the top by ourselves. #TRLT

A1: Our Ellie spent much of her childhood in southwest Wales and fondly remembers clambering up Garn Fawr to explore the Iron Age forts and World War I lookout point. The gorgeous views of the Pembrokeshire coast were a bonus! #TRLT

A1: One of the first mountains I climbed, when I moved to British Columbia, that inspired my love for mountains, was Burke Mountain, with it's natural beauty, well marked trails and history it beckons beautifully.

A1 One of the first mountains @SteshkaAdams climbed in @visittojikiston was in the southern part of the Pamir. 3,000m up the cliff above the village of Langar - a tough climb! - you’ll find these incredible petroglyphs & equally impressive views. #TRLT

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @HMoat A1. A long time ago, int he 90s. Near La Cumbrecita, in Cordoba, Argentina. Not my picture, sorry #TRLT

A1 @UZAmbassador only recently started hiking in @uzb_travel. One of her favourite spots is the Sentob Valley in the Nurata Mountains, the most scenic part of @TNavoi. #TRLT

replying to @pip_says @pip_says @HMoat A1. Mountains over 914m (3000') are known as munros in Scotland + there's 282 across the country. My first munros were some of the easternmost, Mount Keen, Mayar + Driesh, + one of the most famous of them all, Lochnagar #TRLT

replying to @JCreatureTravel @JCreatureTravel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat @VisitJamaicaNow Cool; yeah lush greenery everywhere huh? Where have you hiked? In the countryside it's pretty amazing #TRLT

A2: North Yorkshire’s Roseberry Topping is an absolute stunner in spring when a carpet of bluebells blankets the ground. #TRLT

A2: Biased as co-author of the @BradtGuides book on our home region, but the Chilterns are hard to beat, as small hills. You can walk round historic houses in the landscape, or find ancient hillforts, or even go to a classic car rally such as the Kop Hill Climb #TRLT

A2. I like the hikes around @CheddarGorge_ and the Mendip Hills in England as there’s a selection of gentle walks, lush country pubs and more strenuous hikes to choose from. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: Chamonix, Mt Blanc led to my fascination with mountains, especially the snow capped ones. The pic below is not mine - just picked one from the web to share the beauty of Chamonix #TRLT

#TRLT A1 the first mountain I climbed was Snowdon in Wales when I was 13 but unfortunately I do not have a picture. However, here's one at the summit of Ben Nevis the UK's tallest mountain that I climbed to complete the three-peaks, the tallest of the UK, 30-years later!

replying to @Travel_Session
A1- I can't claim it as the first mountain I've climbed, but 🇯🇵#Hokkaido is the first mountain that I went up.
