Q1: What is the first hill or mountain you climbed (perhaps it was your first) that gave you a love for mountains? Inspire us with a photo! via @HMoat #TRLT #traveltuesday #adventure #travel

A1. Probably the first peak I climbed was Pen y Fan in Brecon Beacons? It’s a rite of passage for a lot of people in South Wales, especially if you are doing a DOE award. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: probably one of the first hills I climbed were these around my grandparents farm in mid Wales 🏴 #TRLT

replying to @pip_says @pip_says @HMoat A1: can't remember the first I've climbed but was just in the mountains of West Virginia last fall when the leaves were starting to change. #trlt

A1: A rare pre-digital photo. Taken in 1992 from the first mountain range to impressive me. The Swiss Alps as seen from the Jungfraujoch. #TRLT

A1: For our Anna, it has to be Sutton Bank. She loves trekking up to the very top each time she returns to her Yorkshire hometown. And we can see why – just look at that view! #TRLT

A1 Only small hills around Toronto. But first real hills we probably ever saw and went up were Blue Mountains in Collingwood. Really hills not mountains! As seen when I was flying in winter. #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 @JLipowski @heidiSiefkas @pip_says @Touchse @HMoat

#trlt A1: I actually don't remember. I know it *wasn't* Moel Famau, which was the standard one for Liverpool schoolkids to do, because of bad weather. It took me 30 years to get round to climbing it!

A1: It’s Mam Tor in the Peak District for editor Carys. A series of dramatic landslips here have created several smaller hillocks around the fragile peak’s base, hence the nickname ‘The Shivering Mountain’. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: The Blue Mountains in Jamaica. It's 4,702'. I was a kid in high school and have no photos :-) https://t.co/OZyeq6GjfL. You actually do it at night; its cooler so you arrive at the peak at sunrise. it's treacherous; so listen to your guide @VisitJamaicaNow #TRLT #WhereisKerwin

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @HMoat A1: I hadn't really been anywhere with mountains prior to visiting Salzburg. I was completely blown away. The views up at the fortress were breathtaking and worth going up for! #TRLT

A1: Author @PhoebeRSmith was bitten by the adventure bug when she hiked up Bryn Euryn in Wales aged 6. Naturally, she had to include this pint-sized peak in her book, Britain Best Small Hills: https://t.co/MboCoOmSo6 #TRLT

A1 The bluffs in Western #Wisconsin were my intro to hills & #hiking. This is a picture of my hometown Trempealeau, Wi, which is right on the Mighty Mississippi River via @HMoat #TRLT #traveltuesday #travel #adventure

A1. So I can't remember the first hill I climbed, my family has always been into hill walking so I started young, so instead I'll go for the #Lakeland #Fells where I done my first ever hill race. That was 2019 and unfortunately Covid has delayed any further racing #trlt

A1: Would have been in the @BreconBeaconsNP as a Scout in the early 80’s (with occasional forays up such as Snowdon). No photos from then, so this is from a solo morning walk up past Llyn y Fan Fach about 30 years later.

A1: the first mountain I climbed was Mt Sinai in Egypt. We set off at 1am to summit for sunrise. And I fractured my collarbone two days before 😅 such an adventure. Definitely started an obsession! #TRLT

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @HMoat A1) That would be Mt Diablo in the San Francisco Bay Area, though I had been to the summit via automobile a number of times beforehand when I & a few other members of my Boy Scouts troop decided to hike to the top by ourselves. #TRLT

A1: Our Ellie spent much of her childhood in southwest Wales and fondly remembers clambering up Garn Fawr to explore the Iron Age forts and World War I lookout point. The gorgeous views of the Pembrokeshire coast were a bonus! #TRLT

A1 One of the first mountains @SteshkaAdams climbed in @visittojikiston was in the southern part of the Pamir. 3,000m up the cliff above the village of Langar - a tough climb! - you’ll find these incredible petroglyphs & equally impressive views. #TRLT
