@TheTravelCamel @BradtGuides oh no, I much prefer the sweet potato. I do jacket sweet potatoes quite often at home, and the last few times i've made potato bakes have been with sweet tats. I've not bought a standard potato for years lol. #trlt
Now, parsnips ... :D

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel This was from a vendor called "Supplizio" in Rome. They specialize in all different kinds of suppli, but the traditional is arborio rice in tomato sauce wrapped around mozzarella & fried. In Sicily they're called arancini. #TRLT

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @BradtGuides @SoloTravelStory I remember eating in a small Italian restaurant in Rimini. Only an Italian menu (always a good sign) and I was the only foreigner in the place. The food was outstanding. #TRLT

A2: Street food can be an authentic taste of a place, one of my favourite places for street food on The Road Less Travelled is Montreal, Canada where street food is an art.

@TheTravelCamel @BradtGuides A1. Whether I'm visiting a place for food or otherwise, being a #foodie I always find something interesting food-wise. However, when I was visiting Jordan in 2016, I wasn't sure what to expect as I am a vegetarian. But to my surprise, they ve variety of veg options.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @BradtGuides @SoloTravelStory My objection isn't the quality, it's the content. Like, you could have the world's greatest sausage sandwich or cheese-on-toast cooked by a michelin-starred chef with gormet ingredients, but it'd still be a sausage sandwich or cheese-on-toast. #trlt The food doesn't excite me!

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @LindaPeters64 A2) Sadly the Travel Nurse with my previous healthcare plan advised me to avoid street vendors so the closest I've gotten is when I got some fish & chips from an outside vendor at the ferry terminal in Sydney. #TRLT

A3: The strangest things I have ever drunk? Homemade shubat (fermented camel's milk) and kumys (fizzy horse's milk), bought from a market in Almaty, Kazakhstan. One of them was quite nice; but my goodness, the other.

@BradtGuides @RTWBarefoot @SoloTravelStory 3 food rules of travel:
1) Eat only in places with menus in the local language.
2) Eat only in places where the number of locals greatly outnumber the tourists.
3) Eat street food from busy places - fast turnover means fresh food.
These rules have never led me astray. #TRLT
