TRLT

A1: I'd rate the canals in Bruges, Belgium as a somewhat ancient engineering marvel (and you can see how still the water gets at times). #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @postcardsplaces A1: Both and it can vary based on the degree of marvellousness (just inventing the word) :) Among the modern marvels, the Panama Canal is a fav. #TRLT https://t.co/dJtpWylH2H

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @postcardsplaces A1 modern culinary ๐๐ฅฐ like the oyster platter at @WhitePillars in @SeeCoastalMS #travel #funness #TRLT

A1: I prefer ancient, as they donโt make it like they used to. My time recently in Oxford #TRLT

A2: the Great Wheel at Laxey, Isle of Man. Built in 1854 to pump water from the Glen Mooar part of the Great Laxey Mines industrial complex. At one point, this mine produced more zinc than every other mine in Britain combined. #IndustrialHeritage @postcardsplaces #TRLT

A2: Along Japan's #KumanoKodo is more about yourself and nature, the torii and shrines were amazing. via @postcardsplaces #TRLT #traveltuesday

A1: I travelled to Egypt, in part, to specifically see the pyramids in Giza. It was worthy of a visit of itself, plus there were plenty of other attractions to see #TRLT

A2: Editor Laura travelled by rail in Scotland earlier this summer just so she could cross the epic Forth Bridge. And what an engineering masterpiece it is ๐ #TRLT

A2 #TRLT When I was in Singapore, I took a couple of days to go up to Malaysia to see the Petronas Towers. I first saw a picture in the paper when they opened & thought at the time, Iโll never see it. 20 years later I made it.

A2: I went to Ephesus, Turkey to see the Library of Celsus. #TRLT https://t.co/ItIihPHuim

A2 Tashkent TV Tower is an engineering masterpiece. When it was built it was the 4th tallest building in the world, & its structure is designed to flex in the case of an earthquake. #TRLT

A2: Does the Burana Tower count as an engineering marvel? It was a true highlight of Carys's trip to Kyrgyzstan, particularly given that it is one of Central Asia's oldest architectural constructions. It has truly stood the test of time! #TRLT

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @postcardsplaces A2 I loved flying above @theouterbanks in an open cockpit biplane. Made me feel like the Wright Brothers. Well, a tiny bit. #travel #funness #TRLT

A2: A tour guide told me that structural engineers come to see this three-story spiral staircase at the Nathaniel Russell house in Charleston, SC. No supports, no nails. #TRLT

@TheTravelCamel @postcardsplaces Q2: Please share a photo of an Engineering Marvel have you travelled specifically to see. via @postcardsplaces #TRLT
A2: Definitely travelled to see this in person: Angkor Wat in #cambodia

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @postcardsplaces A2: we (and many others) can explore Tintagel Castle in Cornwall fully, thanks to a new bridge with a two-part cantilever design which opened in 2019, allowing access from the mainland to the headland. It's a remarkable, dramatic site, where legends say King Arthur was born #TRLT

A1: Age is Not a Factor to Me - I Am Enthralled by Ancient and Modern #Engineering Marvels!
Iโve Looked Up at Wonder at the Colosseum In #Rome and Gazed Down In Amazement at the #HooverDam!
Seeing Each One is an Awesome #Memory!๐
