TRLT

A1 Lovely caves in #cuba - my fav are around Baracoa & ViƱales #trlt https://t.co/n8fWfQs5UT

A2: Occasionally a travel experience leaves you in awe. One of those times was visiting the incredible Serepeum of Saqqara in Egypt It's more than 3000 years old and my guide and I were the only 2 people inside. Here he examines a granite sarcophagus of a Sacred Apis Bull. #TRLT

A2: I have had the chance to visit an electric power plant in the north of Italy, which was dug deep inside a mountain. It was incredible! I wasn't allowed to take photos inside though due to the risk of sparks, just at the entrance #TRLT

A2 #TRLT Entering the Louvre, we entered underground & saw remnants of the building when it was first built as a medieval fortress.

A:1 my favorite underground attraction is the tomb of Queen Nefertiti in Luxor @ExperienceEgypt the colors and the reliefs are so vivid as if it was just drawn amazing Art #TRLT

A2 These holes may not look like much, but they a part of a koriz, an underground water system built by Alexander the Great to bring water from the Nuratau Mountains to the Nurata Fortress 2,300 years ago. Epic ancient engineering. #TRLT

A2: Some feats of engineering take us underground.
One of my favourites is the Othello Quintette Tunnels, near Hope B.C. Canada. Built through solid granite, they are valued for the metaphoric bedrock geology & railway history, as part of the Kettle Valley Railway.

A2: Nero's Golden House (Domus Aureau) had over 150 rooms & covered a huge expanse of Rome. It's an ongoing archaeological site, but is open for limited visits. It's spectacular, as were the recently reopened Houses of Livia & Augustus #TRLT https://t.co/yyL8wmIA69

A2: The Big Dig in Boston (not the actual picture just scenic shot) via @LindaPeters64 #TRLT #traveltuesday

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @LindaPeters64 A2) The Metro System in the Washington DC metropolitan area is quite impressive with the longest escalator in the Western Hemisphere at one of the stations. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A2 The rock cut churches of Lalibela in Ethiopia. #TRLT

London Underground has a few disused stations that are used as sets for movies like Skyfall. They often have posters with puns on display #trlt A2

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A2: The Wieliczka salt mine in Poland is quite something. An underground city with a salt lake with boats, and even a church carved out of the solid rock, and chandeliers made of salt rock #TRLT

A3: I was very impressed with the main chamber of Gua Tempurung in Perak, Malaysia. It is probably the largest chamber I've ever seen. #TRLT

A3: I spend a lot of my time in man-made underground wonders, but I did find the Guadirikiri Caves in Aruba interesting. #TRLT https://t.co/TVto4aiNSc

A3: When @HMatthews67 visited the Dachstein ice palaces, a few years ago, it was a case of ice, ice, maybe. (Image: Vorwerk via Wikimedia Commons) @LindaPeters64 #TRLT
