A3: Wiltshire’s Avebury Stone Circles (erected between 2850BC and 2200BC) are the largest Neolithic henge monument in Britain. So big, in fact, that Stonehenge could fit inside them 130 times over! #TRLT

#trlt A3: at the end of May I was in the Orkney Islands and wandered close to some stone circles and sunken houses dating from the 3000s BC.
A3: The ‘sacred city’ of Choga Zanbil in Iran is an ancient Elamite complex dating from around 1340BC. Founded by the Elamite king as Elam’s religious centre and was home to several temples dedicated to the god Inshushinak. #TRLT

A3. These standing stones are the prehistoric Bodach and Cailleach on Gigha (#InnerHebrides surprise, surprise) - thought to represent a man and woman. Similarly to most standing stones around Scotland (and elsewhere), we really don't know how old they are. #trlt

A3: One of the oldest historical places that I've visited is Tulum's ancient Mayan city, the pre Columbian Coba ruins in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula were settled between 50 BC - 100 AD.
