Islands
TRLT
Q2: Which island has the most interesting people and culture? Inspire us with a photo! via @charlesmccool #TRLT #traveltuesday
A2 #TRLT Bermuda had a really laid back, friendly feel. I don’t think I’ve been anywhere else in the world where everyone on the street says hello to you.
A2: For people and culture - Zanzibar is very difficult to beat. Brilliant food too. #TRLT
A2: Gozo Island is a place that the mainland of Malta used to be like 15 years ago! Great people and very welcoming #TRLT
#TRLT A2: Ahhh, Vanuatu! So many islands, so many different cultures: Water Music, Kava, food (LapLap), and Nambas (penis sheaths).

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CharlesMcCool A2 The Azores archipelago where volcanoes play a prominent role. (eg, cozido is a stew cooked in volcanic steam on Sao Miguel.) This photo was taken on Graciosa where I wandered through lava tunnels. This goat traipsed through the lava scape. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CharlesMcCool A2 : Either Crete because of the archeology (and there's the Greek food too!) or Miyajima. #TRLT
A2 St Maarten was filled with all cultures! It’s Caribbean, french and dutch with tourists sprinkled in. Once we figured out how to navigate all the accents, we had a wonderful time! #islandlife #trlt #stmartin #sintmaarten #frenchwestindies #dutchwestindies #traveltuesday

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CharlesMcCool A2: I would be remiss for not saying New Zealand - where I grew up! I had the privilege of speaking Te Reo Maori as a child, and learning about the indigenous peoples of Aotearoa. An honour to have grown up there with that influence! #TRLT

A2- I think that sometimes tourism and the beaches overshadow the rich culture of 🇯🇲#Jamaica

A2: an island that has interesting people and culture, Cuba enthralls with it's epic beauty and humble proud people.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CharlesMcCool A2: eh em ;-) I'm biased, very biased. I'm going to say The Caribbean Islands. The culture from island to island is so different. Each had different indigenous people & multiple conquerors and immigrants over the years. It's music, dance, food, language, colors, complexions #TRLT
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CharlesMcCool A2) Here's a couple of photos from two different islands on the opposite sides of the globe. #TRLT
A2. The more I visit the Scottish Western Isles the more I want to return. Interesting people and culture, certainly, but also wildlife, history and the most gorgeous scenery. This is Harris but there many more to choice from. #TRLT

A2 #TRLT "Islands"
Often, Islands - and more whent they are far away - are also used as jail. There's a terrible one in Port Blair (South Andaman) where one exiled and locked up indians political prisonners.
Now people are peaceful and life is cool in this very nowhereland

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @CharlesMcCool A2. Obviously other than the time I lived on a very small island + started my own cargo cult, for me it would be Shetland. A mixture of Scottish, Norwegian + North Atlantic influences makes something quite unique + special. #TRLT
