Q4: What's the most unusual firsthand experience you've ever had of ice or snow? Please show us a photo! via @caitlinkellyNYC #TRLT #traveltuesday
A4: Seeing a portion of river in Finnish Lapland that still flowed in temperatures heading beyond -20 Celsius whereas every other waterway was frozen. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4. No pics but I think one snow memory that always makes me laugh is how shocked I was to see snow on palm trees in Japan back in high school. #trlt
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A4: One December, I flew into an Arctic village of 500 people, landing on a tiny ice strip, greeted by villagers (for a Montreal Gazette story.) Had never been to a place where all you saw was ice, water, snow. Flew home through 2 halves of an iceberg. ❤️❤️❤️ #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: I found these fantastical sculptures of Marcel Gagnon in the village of Sainte Flavie in the Quebec Maritime region. Some of the sculptures appear and disappear with the tide. #TRLT
A4 We were very surprised to find snow when we went up in a cable car above the desert in Palm Springs! The locals though seemed prepared. https://t.co/vvzB22gtaN #TRLT @pip_says @Touchse @caitlinkellyNYC
A4 #TRLT My NYE trip to NYC, it was a freezer. 15F in the middle of the afternoon. One morning it felt a little warmer. I looked out the window & it was snowing. I couldn’t help but to note the irony, snow warmed everything up.

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @CaitlinKellyNYC A4) Back in 2008 I wasn't expecting to encounter snow in Yellowstone National Park on the first weekend in September when have to drive over Bear Tooth Pass (>10,000') later on that same day. 😧 #TRLT

#trlt A4: not *unusual* (insomuch as I rarely see snow), but the setting of this pic makes it look pretty unusually stunning I think, with the blue sky and a frozen river. It's ... Gdansk, Poland, at about -15°C.
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: Flying over Greenland. I was flying over from Europe. It's so amazing'y beautiful. #TRLT @visitgreenland #Greenland
A4: one of the most unusual experiences that I've had with ice or snow was listening to the eerie noise, as the ice expanded or contracted with temperature changes, in ice floes along B.C.'s mighty Fraser River.

A4. A few years ago, it would NOT stop snowing in Sun Valley, Idaho! The snow was so high, if you looked out the window of our home, all you could see was white for months. Our dog (seen here on what was the porch) would simply walk over our 12 foot fence! #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: In my early days of my aviation career, I worked on the ramp in DCA. It was 25F out and recent snow and ice on the ramp. We were rushing and the pin on the towbar broke. The 757 kept sliding back until we frantically told the Captain to re-set the brakes and it stopped #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4. I was in Geneva a few summers ago and took a trip up Mont Saleve just over the French border. Despite being 20 degrees at the base, we were hit with heavy snow at the summit. I sheltered in a Tibetan monastery, randomly. #TRLT
replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski @CaitlinKellyNYC A4. Snow over sand / ocean is also a unique picture I have from past trips. But leftover snow in Shirakawago is what I have photos of🤓: https://t.co/jk5xiYRgWO ❄️ #trlt
