A4: a favourite outdoor museum, is the self drive tour of the Monocacy National Battlefield, in Maryland, from the American Civil War. Standing in the midst of the fields, I eerily felt a deeper understanding of the people who fought in the war.

#trlt A4: there's a couple of "Living Museums" in the UK that depict life as it was, say, 200 years ago around the Industrial Revolution. There's Beamish, in the NE of England, and The Black Country Living Museum in the West Midlands. Very interactive and great fun.
